This has been said, and will now be said officially.

My wife, Bastet44 and I have taken over C4 Guru, plus all the other Guru domains (C3 and C5 - more on them later).

Initially, there won't be any changes. Mostly, because we need to research new hosting sites and software.

But those changes will come.

A few things that will and won't happen:

1. You will never see an ad embedded within a post.

2. You will see sponsorship. It will help the forum grow.

3. This is not a dictatorship. It's that simple. However, as admin, we will NOT tolerate stupidity. Ignorance is one thing, but we will not put up with stupidity.

4. Coarse language... a real touchy subject. However, we want this to be a family friendly resource, so it has to stay at PG. We don't want this site put on office ban lists. Besides, many of the new C4 owners are teens.

5. New sections. We really want to start an eBay forum. Where funny, absurd and just plain silly eBay ads can be posted.

6. For Sale. You can post items (or cars) for sale there, or, post your eBay ad. We know eBay has a greater reach. All we ask is you place a reference to C4 Guru in your eBay ad. Maybe link them to a picture in your Guru ad.

7. CSS996 has kindly offered to provide some of his Photoshop skills! Thanks! Also, a close friend of mine back east is a graphics artists. So expect some look changes.

8. Most importantly, expect performance changes.

9. The biggest change will come in time... how we handle archives. Stay tuned.

Thanks for your patience as we go through this process. It will take time, and we are sure that mistakes will be made. Just bear with us! We look forward to hearing your comments and thoughts!

Thanks and enjoy!

Andy & Tamiza

I'm looking forward to helping out, and hopefully helping the site grow!

I'm also a video producer, so the next time I tackle a project on the Vette, I will see about creating a video for it. Plus I'd be more than happy to shoot video of other Colorado folks improving their rides.

Well, this is the end of the road for me. ITs been fun. I will still be around from time to time, but in order to make the forum grow, it needs fresh minds and motivation. I brought it this far and, believe it or not, it has been 3 years going.

A lot of changes through those years!

Anyway, I have stepped down as owner and admin and Mr. Bogus and Mrs. Bogus have their hands full!

Good luck to ya!

Andy - your approach with this site sounds very well thought out. This site could become a fantastic wealth of information.

As you may know from my various posts on Corvette Forum I've been "rebuilding" my '85 over the past two years. The details of the car are far too many to go into here but I've documented many of the modifications I've made to the car with photos along the way intending to put together a "how to" for enthusiasts who work on their own C4s. At my day job for the past 17 months I've been performing a no expense spared, 100 point restoration on a 1973 Jaguar XKE (E-type) which is in it's very final stages. I've taken a lot of the knowledge and techniques I use at work and implemented them into my own C4 restoration. Many of these techniques can be used by the average weekend enthusiast. As my C4 (and my wife's project, an 1990 Audi Quattro Coupe converted to full European S2 spec including 20V Turbo engine) come to a close this fall I would like to offer my assistance to you as a technical writer in the Tech Library and contribute all the information and techniques I've gathered and used on my own C4. I believe this site could really become a great wealth of information for all C4 enthusiasts. I'd love to help you make that happen. You can E-mail me at vtvette @ hotmail.com if you are interested and I can give you more information on my background and the articles I can contribute.

Best of Luck Andy,

Brian

Brian, you're hired!!!

Anyone silly (or twisted?) enough to work with Jags, Vettes and Audis is definately off their rocker.

I will be sending you a note shortly.

Thanks, everyone, this is gonna be fun!

Brut - THANKS for starting this. Without the inital surge, we wouldn't be here now... and you are ALWAYS welcome.

Wow I had no idea that this site has been up for 3 years! As mentioned in my previous post you did a fantastic job with the design and layout. The reasons you gave for stepping down your level of involvement here are completely understandable. I have a feeling this site is going to really take off and as the father of the site you should be a part of it. Don't be a stranger!

Petey dont get on much....I wonder if this site will ever be as big as CF. Maybe when this place has been around for 17 years, get other generations here, and stuff....it might get big. Umm....I made a free website b4. Maybe that could be done again......advertise stuff....It came up in google af ew times when I typed it in.

I have plans on expanding into other generations. I know we cannot survive as a single generational special.

It will stay free... but I am debating the membership model...

It's been a while since I last visited this site, mostly it was the delay in loading pages, and sadly patience is not one of my virtues.

Good work Bogus, now I’ll keep coming back for advice and help when needed!

I'm new here and late to the game, but I'll be happy to do whatever I can to asist you as well Andy.

It's difficult at best trying to find good, quality information/pics/videos, etc. relative to the C4.

As a moderator on another start up international site, I know the difficulties you face. Anything I or we can do to assist you, we'll be happy to do

Congrats to you and Mrs. Bogus. I am sure this Forum will grow. I have gotten a lot of good info from CF (thanks to you and others). I am always glad to give a helping hand. I am no mechanic and ask quite a few questions but that is how I learn. I could tell things were getting testy at CF. There were a lot of short answers and refer to the FSM answers. I have a Helms manual but don't really know how to read some of the schematics. Show me picture or give me step by step info and I can do it.

Appreciate it and hope things go well. BTW, this might grow faster than you think w/all the banning going on. Happy New Year and wish you a successful 2008. Let me know if you need a few dollars sent your way to help out.
