Bryner's expert, Steve Spencer, looked it over for me. He said it was missing a computer update that spreads the limits of the date the system uses to apply the Active Handling. The Reflash of the computer was all that was needed. All of the sensors checked out. With the Club Discount, it ended up being around $150. And now all is well.

I'd take it ...

... thanks for the update!

Bill,

I've been there: it's ... beyond belief ... just the Y-Job, the LeSabre, and the Firebirds was enough. Everything else was just cake.

And the cars ... you can just walk right up to them ...

Bryner Chevrolet has a long history of extensive Corvette club support. If you are giving any dealer your money, I could think of far worse.

Good ... afternoon all.

Made a bunch of plans this morning and than the condensate pump on our first floor central air conditioner failed. Dithered with it for a while (shocking myself on open wires a couple of times) and finally managed to get the PVC pipe out of the pump and into a bucket.

Pump is only four years old. Motor is working, but water level sensor isn't.

Good morning, Tommy, all! Dreary in Philadelphia this morning - it starts getting really hot tomorrow.

Spent much of yesterday evening tracking and than responding to Microsoft's new "Surface" tablets. Interesting - but can they execute?

In more auto-related stuff, I finally gave in and purchased "The Art and Colour of General Motors":

http://www.amazon.com/The-Art-Colour- ... 80936/ref=pd_rhf_sc_p_t_2

- it was not cheap, but it is by far the most beautiful book I own. Most of the color plates are flat-out amazing: the merely good shots would be the show-off picture in many of the other automotive books I own. Again, it's a commitment, but it was worth it to me.

Good morning, all!

Nice today in Philadelphia, but expected to be brutally hot as the week wears on.

Got return on investment for both the 2003 and 2012 this weekend. Drove the convertible to the (very) fancy new township community recreation center on Saturday in between Speed's Le Mans coverage periods - I wasn't in the mood to deal with their streaming. On Sunday, we took the Centennial deep out into the Pennsylvania countryside around Lancaster.

Nice pictures, great cars - thanks for the pics, Joe.

My Packard - no question: 1956 Caribbean tri-tone hardtop (though I'll take a 1955 or 1956 convertible if you twist my arm). Give me the white/pink/black.

Not a good year for the Pros: 5th (73) and 6th (74) in class, both many laps down. The GT1 Am racers from Larbre Competition held Corvette high: finishing 1st in class (good news) and ahead of the factory cars (bad news).

Massive crash at about five hours in - one of the Ferraris turns into a Toyota hybrid at the end of the Mulsanne Straight. The Toyota goes flying - both cars hit the ARMCO barrier hard.

Corvette sits at 1st (74) and 4th (73) in class in GT Pro. In GT AM, Corvette is 1st and 8th.

People who are't deep into the hobby just don't understand the vast differences in shark value between the chrome bumper cars and the rubber bumper cars that followed. There's some collector interest in the 1975 'vert, but other than that things are fallow until you get to 1978 Pace Car (and, to a lessor extent, the 1978 Silver Anniversary). I've seen folks with perfect and pedigreed cars from these three years unable to sell them.

At 2:15 in, it's now Corvette (74), Aston Martin, Ferrari, Corvette (73), Porsche.

Audi continues up front and the Nissan delta wing looks really cool.

We're about an hour in. The factory Corvettes are running sixth (74) and ninth (73) in class. The 73 (currently Garcia) is having tires issues. The Ferraris are fast, but I expect at least some of them to catch fire during the night.

Out front: the Audis have had uncharacteristic issues, but they're still faster than their Toyota competition.

Good morning, all!

We'll head out in about an hour to watch my father run the memorial service in Ardmore. It's always a good chance to see him in his choker whites (which still fit).

Afterwards, I'll drive my mother back to her house in the 'vert - another tradition.

Sweet. Were you able to ride in any?

No, but we got really close to them. There was a pretty good crowd, especially considering it was a holiday weekend and half of the local population was already at the shore.

Yesterday (Saturday), Ivelis and I headed down to the Simeone Museum for one of their demonstration days. This one was "England vs. Italy in the Battle for Le Mans". Dr. Simeone and his assistants drove a 1927 Bentley Speed Model a 1930 Bentley 4.5 L Supercharged, a 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Le Mans, and a 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Monza.

Three pictures:

1) The Le Mans Alfa.

2) The Supercharged Bentley and the Monza Alfa.

3) Social climbing with a Rolls Royce.
