Good Morning CGs!

Alternator is very common on C4s, Gris. Glad it was something minor.

My TA is done with paint. My buddy had it the last few days to paint the calipers, install the exhaust tips, a few other things. Look forward to driving it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Good luck TB, hope it passes by you guys with no complications.

AC has been running well since the refill. So now the thermostat went bad. Go figure. Always something. One of the benefits of being a hoarder is that I still had the old one sitting in the garage so I reinstalled that for now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Wanted to cut the grass this morning and as soon as I walked outside it started raining. Oh well.

Letty, I ordered new lights because they are already aftermarket plastic and cracked. No point in tinting that. I got the fog lights from the same place as the headlights and they will match.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Hot and humid here, as well. Got to tinker with the mustang this morning and got the new headlights installed. Fixed the wiring last night. Headlights fought with me a bit because the studs were rusted in. Always something. But it's done and they look good. Of course once I got those on it doesn't look right with the clear fog lights so I had to order a smoked set. It's only money, right?

Hope everyone has a great day!

I don't know of any ac difference between the coupes and the convertibles. The C4 blower / fan speed certainly sucks though, imho.

Good Morning CGs!

Wrapping up the northern Michigan UP vacation today. Driving home shortly, about a 5 hour trip back home. It was a good time at the farm. I did a lot of work which I enjoyed. Father-in-law-in-law was happy to have me. Mother-in-law-in-law said I worked too much and it was supposed to be a vacation. Work is good for the body and the soul. That's what I think. Although when I was on top of the flat roof yesterday (in the sun) painting it with sealer I wasn't thinking that. But it got done. All of the chores were taken care of. Hopefully I can make it back up here in the fall.

Kids had fun. RR#2 got to shot a gun for the first time, a little bolt action .22 learner's gun that was gifted to me by a friend. Also had a little Ithaca lever action .22 but I think that was a little too big for him still.

That's it for me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Happy 4th to all.

We will be grilling some steaks and burgers later.

Worked outside all day yesterday. I was whipped in the evening. I'm sure there's more to do today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

Little road trip today. Up at the small farm belonging to my sister in law's parents. Love it here. I have to some to do tomorrow. Always something to do (looking forward to it).

Hope everyone has a great day!

I'm no expert with this stuff. When I had surging with my 383 and 700r4 2800 stall I put in a switch to unlock to the converter. I wouldn't lock the converter until about 50 mph. Might try a higher speed setting.

Good Morning CGs!

Hard to believe it's July 1st already.

TB, sorry to hear about your friend.

Marcus, watch out for those guys from Florida.....we know all about them

Despite saying I'm done with selling I did pick up a few tools yesterday. Just a small batch. About 1/2 is sold already via text message so that's promising.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Ac still wasn't working yesterday. Neighbor came over with his gauges and special temperature clamps and checked it out. Low on refrigerant. Of course being an older system it takes R22. Luckily he had a little bit left over, just enough to top it off and get it working right. He owns a commercial HVAC company and they don't do anything residential but most of the stuff is the same. He won't take money so I need to get something nice for him.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Month is almost over. Another one flew by.

Kids are going to BIL's hoise to cut the grass today. They don't know what they agreed to yet but they're going to find out. A little hard work never hurt anyone.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

A little relief from the heat today. Taking the kids to a state park for some hiking and then a movie afterwards as long as they aren't too exhausted.

Drove the mustang yesterday and took the kids to a little art festival the next town over. Ran well and ac is still cold. I still need to get the suspension aligned because it's off from the previous owner.

Tommy, haven't been able to test the house ac out yet (in full swing) because it hasn't gotten over 90 since I cleaned the coils.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Took the kids over to mom's house for some cleaning Saturday morning. To answer the question....I'm the dad that works them hard, not the one that lets them off easy. Shed needs go come down in two weeks. It's 10x15 and 12' tall. Should take me about 5 hours and a 15 yard dumpster. Kids want to "help" but you know how that goes.

Came home and took the ac condenser apart and cleaned the coils. Hopefully that did the trick. They were pretty dirty. But the rain dropped the temps to the low 70s so no chance to test things for real.

That's it for me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Ac saga continues. Wife called me again at work and said the ac wasn't working. Next step is cleaning the condenser coils. Hopefully that does it. Otherwise Sunday when my neighbor gets home he has gauges and we can check the Freon.

Tkd in the morning and then taking the kids to my mom's house to do some cleaning. Kids need work to keep them busy. Less phone and internet, more labor. That's what I think.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Read the post about the hail damage. Sorry to hear that Marcus, hope it works out.

Been hot here. Thursday evening the wife called and said the ac in the house wasn't working. Can't diagnose much over the phone. Told her to change the filter and turn it off. Got home from work and checked it out...fan is working and everything looks good. Most likely a frozen line due to a dirty filter. I'll find out more once the temp goes back up.

Drove the Vette and had to fill it up. $80 later and I'm in business. Thanks Uncle Joe.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Another hot day. The dashboard says 99. I'd say it's pretty close.

Both of the kids had some of their friends over today. Six kids in the pool which made me happy to see. I hate having something and that item not being used. The pool is no exception.

No updates on the trans am. I know it's at the paint shop but I don't know if they've even started on it. I'd like to get it back soon so I can drive it this summer.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Should be 91* here today, as well.

Tinkered with the Mustang yesterday. No air through the dash vents, only defrost. I assumed it was similar to the C4s with the vacuum activated doors. I found that the ac vacuum hose running across the firewall was broken. Replaced that and also capped off a vacuum leak. Car idles better but still didn't fix it. Crawled around under the dash and found that the ac vacuum line under the dash connected to the door solenoid was off. Had to pull the HVAC head and reroute it to fit correctly. Seems like everything on this car is half assed. But it's working now.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Happy father's day to all.

Took RR#1 to a car show last night. Capped the night off with a milkshake. She was in heaven. She saw a 1936 Auburn which was her car of the night. It was a good time. RR#2 needs some 1:1 time so I'll take him mini golfing today. Dinner later at the in-laws' house. Then I have to open up the sprinkler system. Always something to do.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Warm day here again.

Tinkered with the mustang last night, got the new lower rubber shift boot installed (which of course required removing the entire console) and got the new upper leather shift boot installed as well. I need a new shift knob it I'll have to look for one of those later.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Warm here. Dropped mom's car off at the dealer this morning. AC wasn't working, had symptoms of low refrigerant. It's under extended warranty. Service writer buddy said one line commonly leaks, that's what it turned out to be. A few hours job but it's ready for pick up.

Some new interior spiff up parts came in the mail for the mustang. Hopefully get those installed today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Glad all is well with the ticker and the daughter, Gris. Letty, hope you feel better.

Good Evening CGs!

Was a hot one here today. Speaking of freon I picked up a little can of r134a to top off the Vette. Need to break out the manifold gauges and get that taken care of. The mustang has factory AC installed but not sure if it works. It was already converted but I know the condenser is leaking. I just need to dig into it and find out.

Good Morning CGs!

Should be a hot one here today.

Took the Mustang over to my best friend's shop last night and we knocked out the new radio. Wiring was a little hacked up but he's a real pro so no worries there. Had it all done and wrapped up in a couple of hours. Got it adjusted and sounds pretty darn good.

Gris, good luck to your daughter. Hopefully nothing major.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Guess I finally beat Gris to the punch.

Sorry I was MIA for the weekend. I finally got all of my brake parts for the mustang to complete the master cylinder swap. What a disaster. The 88 MC is a three port design (stupid) and the 93 cobra is a 2 port design. There's a company that sells a reasonably priced line and adapter kit prebent to hook everything up. Great I'm theory. In actuality the lower port flare nut was rusted to the line and snapped off when removing it. I tried to cut it and reflare it farther down but it didn't work out. Didn't find the small drip until bleeding failed. Ended up having to buy a short length of line and coil it then splice in a union. Got that done and still couldn't get a pedal...wouldn't stop leaking from the union. WTF. Back to the parts store and got another union and this one finally worked. This took the better part of two days for about 8 hours total. For a MC swap that should have taken 2 hours. It includes trips to the store and whatnot but still way too long. Done for now. The brakes are better but still nowhere close to "modern" standards. Another fun surprise was Ford using aix of metric and SAE fasteners on the car, just like GM in the 80s. Thanks for that.

Next project is the radio. The front speaker has three separate sets of wires running to it from "mechanics" along the way. Can't wait.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hopefully the headlight repair went off without a hitch. They are not overly difficult, more of a tedious nuisance repair.

Good Afternoon CGs!

Warm and humid here today. Had a long TKD class this morning that kicked my butt. Just drove over to the outlaw's house to fix an outlet. The drive over took longer than the repair. Just the way it is.

Yes Tommy, every day.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Evening CGs!

Good luck with the car, VB. Hope it goes smoothly.

Today was my bday. Happens every year apparently. Just had some BBQ and a pineapple upside down cake prepared by my bride. Mom and in-laws came over to celebrate. Low key, just how I like it. Kiddos got me a mustang Tshirt. First one, gotta represent that roaring 225 HP.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Sounds like road trips all around. Nice story there, TB. Hope you guys enjoyed the reunion. And you certainly racked up some miles there, John.

Rained earlier, supposed to get more later.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Warm and cloudy here today.

Sucks about the ding, Marcus. I'm sure you can't even see it.

Worked on the mustang this morning. I installed the (missing from PO) clutch cable firewall adjuster. Holy crap completely different car. Clutch is tight, engages 1" from top, no grinding, no slop. Big win there. Next up is the new brake master cylinder and proportioning valve.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Should be a nice day in the 70s.

Glad you sorted out your supply issue, Gris. Wife said she was at the store yesterday and shelves were bare again. Guess that supply issue isn't sorted out.

New tires for the mustang came in. Supposed to get those installed today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

By 2100....I hope corn isn't a problem for me by then, either.

Been working on the mustang here and there. Everything on that car was hacked and cobbled together. Third brake light wasn't working and found that the PO bypassed the factory wiring (probably had a break) and hacked up the brake light wiring in the trunk. Could have done it the simple way but his "fix" was even more complicated and stupid. Sigh. Still need to order parts for the brakes to get those more roadworthy. Just time and money, right?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning CGs!

Can't believe it's June already.

Doing a full brake job on BIL's f150 today. He dropped it off last night so I guess I should get cracking.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Andy, it's already modified. Headers and an intake. Full QA1 suspension. A few other miscellaneous mods. And the prices have already gone insane.

Thanks guys. It is definitely a project. Everything the previous owner did was half ass. Spent a lot of money on quality parts and then hacked the install. I will have a lot of time sorting out the mess but I love the way the car looks.

Well Gurus, I went to the dark side. Maybe just a little. I've always been a Mustang fan ever since I was a little kid. Had the opportunity to pick this up, a throwback to what was cool when I was growing up.

1988 Mustang GT 5.0 5-speed convertible. Blue over silver, gray interior. It's had a repaint, but overall in good condition. A solid driver, not a show car. Has a lot of little odds and ends to take care of but that's the fun of it.

Good Morning CGs!

Should be sunny and warm here today. Have a little road trip today....big plans in the works. Can't jinx it, more later.

Gris, good luck with the bike.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Afternoon CGs!

Cloudy with some rain here. Not as warm as yesterday.

Today is RR#1's last day of school. They have their 8th grade graduation ceremony tonight. Then it's off the the plants to work and support the family....if it weren't for those damn child labor laws.

Terrible about the tragedy in Texas yesterday. Definitely a mental health issue, not a gun issue.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hey Tommy!

What smells like leather and sounds like a sneeze?

A shoe.....

(say it out loud)

Hate me later. I'll see myself out.
