I'm not sure how my wife would feel about the PONYRIDZ but I like it.

TB, I really like yours, that's so perfect.

I was thinking about something like IDRIVIT since there seem to be a lot of Garage Queens in the Mustang community too. Marcus, you spurred that idea with DALYDRVR. I don't want to do any Corvette related ones so as not to offend any of Corvette owners, you know how righteous some can be, thats why I love the GURU! Noone here is like that.

Got this in a email from my wife today..

A practical example of how the human mind works…………………………

In the picture below, we will analyze what it represents to some groups of people.

Read the review after the photo...

PIC IS MARGINALLY NWS.. so I decided not to embed it

http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s4 ... /misc%20pics/emailpic.jpg

- For young men, it's a nice ass. Only the most observant will define this as an ass crossing the street. The really observant will see the thong.
- For older men, it is a respectable woman with a nice ass crossing the street.
- The perverts will imagine her as a naked woman.
- The wise men will ponder the presence of mind of the photographer in the face of such beauty and gratitude that it was shared with humanity.
- For half of the women, this is an ordinary woman who should not have left home dressed that way.
- The other half is wondering where she bought that blouse.
- The wise women imagine the misery that this will be at 50.
- Children, the curious, and monks will probably notice a dog driving the taxi..

Don't be alarmed, I didn't see the dog either.

Good luck Don!!

Rainy and dreary here again..we're on a roll with this crap. The sun peeked out Saturday for about an hour.

Nothing much else going on. Bought a few mods for the Mustang, short shifter, and aluminum Roush pedal covers. I'm going to focus on Suspension and cosmetic mods and leave the engine bay alone since it's still under warranty.

Mike, I'm glad you're pleased with it. You can wet sand it down a little with 600 - 1000 grit and it will polish up nice if that's your thing.

Hopefully that works, I always suck at the youtube embed.

Picked the Mustang up from the bodyshop in the rain this morning. Got to work and it had stopped raining...they apparently need some new filters on their booth and I might take them some wet sandpaper and my buffer so they can cut and buff it since they must not have those supplies. I told them that I am picky...

Dropped the Mustang off at the bodyshop yesterday morning. Got my rental.. 2012 GMC Terrain. Nothing like going from 300+ hp to a 2.4L 4cyl trying to push all 4 wheels and a lot of weight. It's well appointed but sluggish.

Car should be done tomorrow.

Weather here has been gray for days.

I need a DNBFST too.

Wow Don, sounds like you had one of those Bittersweet kind of days yesterday.
The new job sounds interesting. Maybe I can get a job up there once I finish school? haha.

Resized Image

I had one of those $$ nights last night, had to take the dog to the emergency vet last night. He's been having tummy troubles. Last night he had blood coming out where it's not supposed to so off we went. They think he has something called GHE and they gave him some fluids, an antibiotic and something to control the vomiting. We left with our dog and a whole lot less $$. He made it through the night without having to go outside so that was an improvement.

It's nice and cool here too. I love it.

Brad, sorry to hear the Vette's not running right.

I've got a few things lying around that I want to get rid of.

Tall centerbolt valve covers. Got these off E-bay. They did not leak. If you're running AC there will be some customization of the bracket in order to fit these. Some small scratches from installation and removal.
$60 shipped in the US

A set of front drilled rotors. Not sure of brand name. They were on the car when I bought it. I don't have a mic here to check thickness. Also have a set of standard from calipers that I know the right one needs rebuild. They both work fine, the right one drags just enough to create dust on the wheel.
$80 shipped for all.

Put almost 2k miles on the Mustang last week going up to PA. Got an average of 26mpg.

Had a woman in a Silver C5 try to play in Roanoke, VA but I was just trying to get home without getting and tickets.

Damn..back to work today. Drove back from PA yesterday. It was rough leaving everyone but my son is here so my heart is here.
My wife and I spent all day Saturday helping out Grams. Some trees had fallen in the back when Irene went through so I got out the chainsaw and hacked them up. My wife is such a trooper, she was out there hauling logs and hefting them over the drop-off. Then we trimmed the bushes out front and blew the driveway off. Gram was so thankful. Up to a couple of years ago she'd have been out there doing everything herself (minus the chainsaw).

PeteK called Saturday to let us know that he'd already finished up dad's tranny. It was a mess inside. Someone had done a half-assed rebuild at some point and of course they did not install the $.05 screens. I think Dad is going to pick it up this Saturday.

Tommy, I'm glad to read that your Mom is doing better!

Marcus, if you don't leave the bra on all the time I think it will be ok. Take it off once a week, wash the car, clean the inside of the bra and then wax the car. Just don't buy a cheap one, get one that really fits snug so that it doesn't flap arround.

Have a great day guru's!!!

Jeff

That sounds like an interesting job Don. Hopefully things go your way. Oktoberfest sounds like fun too.

We are still in PA. Leaving tomorrow. Except for the rain it has been a great visit. I took my wife around and showed her my hometown. I almost forgot how beautiful the mountains can be. The sun showed up for the first time all week so we went to the top of Camelback and it was perfect, we could see for miles. Then we went by my high school. Wow, it has grown significantly since I graduated in '93

Well, I've got to try to get some homework done before everyone gets up.

Tommy, more mojo for your mom!

The reason I went with the Mustang is because I traded in both my cars on this, I had to have some sort of back seat. The boys can fit in there, yes it's a little cramped but they love riding in it. The Flowmasters sound good and it makes us all smile when I get on it.

I would have preferred a new Camaro but they are still out of my price range. I don't regret the Mustang though. I would have loved to get a C5 or C6 but that's gonna have to wait until the boys are out of the house.

Well, after almost a year of trying to get the Vette right I threw in the towel. The last morning that I drove it to work when I got there smoke was pouring in through the defrost vents. I spent too much time in the garage and my wife was really getting tired of seeing it in the garage and us not being able to enjoy it.

I took it to the local Chevy dealer and traded it and the VW in on...

It's a 2009 GT with 29K 5 speed, CAI and Flowmasters already installed by previous owner. Tinted windows and navigation. This is the car that my wife and I drove from NC to PA. It got an average of 26mpg and I wasn't taking it easy getting up here.

Just 4 days after I got it this happened in the parking lot at work

Of course no one knows what happened. $500 bill at the body shop that will happen when we get back to NC.

Anyway, I will probably still be stopping by to see what you guys are up to and to bug y'all with questions for dad and his '91

Thank you guys for all the advice. I wanted nothing more than to get the beast running right and spend many years enjoying it.

Parting shots of the Vette

Well, we've been in PA since Saturday. It started raining on Monday evening and just now stopped. Streets are flooded and we are the lucky ones. Up in PeteK's neck of the woods people are having it rough.

I got to meet Pete on Monday when we dropped my dad's transmission off for rebuild. It was great to meet him. Man knows his transmissions, he had it torn apart before we got back to dad's house. It was pretty much toast due to a crappy rebuild sometime in the past. we picked up the new torque converter today. Pete hopes to have the parts in this weekend. But my wife and I are heading back to NC on Sunday so I won't be here to help him put it back in.

Dad and I tinkered in the garage some today. His mufflers are shot but he's going to have to run them for now since the trans rebuild has turned out to be a bit more than anticipated. So we welded up some holes and tacked on of the muffs back in place.
I did get to put my eyes and hands on his OBX headers, they sure are purty!!

Nothing much going on here. We got a little wind and no rain from Irene, we really need the rain too.

Washed cars today and went to have dinner with my mom.

I hope this week flies by, heading to PA on Saturday.

Matthew, glad to hear the little one is doing better.

Smoke coming out the defrost vents this morning when I got to work...yeah, that's how my day started.

I'm starting to hate this car cuz I know it hates me.

Our system at work is still down with no idea when it's coming back up.

I'm just glad it's Friday.

Wow, I didn't know that Edelbrock had that many suspension parts.

I went with it as it was. Should get it off the stands tonight. For some reason now that I've had the C-beam bolts out a few times they don't seem like as much of a pain as they were that first time.

Matthew, that's exactly how mine was, it was nice and loose until I pressed it that extra hair to get the clip to seat then they were tight. Only on the yoke end too. The other end seemed ok.

That's a good suggestion too Josh, Thanks.

I'm sorry for everyone that is going to Carlisle. This situation really sucks.

Nothing much going on here. Our system at work has been down since yesterday at around 10am so it's been interesting. Taking it back to the time when all you had was a pen and paper.

I'm loving this morning weather we have been having.

Thanks Will. I got the stuff to do the O2 sensor just lacking time last night. I ended up putting it back together with the single wire for now.

Have I mentioned lately that I really hate my hedman headers. It took way too long to put the plugs in.

Go into the advanced options diable CCM Handshake. I think it's in the small window that pops up when you get ready to record data. I had the same problem.

I went with the 13077 sensor. It had male connection which is what I needed. $45 at O'reilly.

Matthew, for the O2 sensor did you use that part #13190 or a different one, of course none of the big autoparts places around have that one.

Going to try to do this tonight since I have the Y pipe out.

Thanks,
Jeff
