Fred is my name, married for 34 years in March to the same fantastic woman. We have a son 33 and a daughter 28. Daughter was hit by a drunk driver in Oct 08, spent almost 13 weeks at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga and is now staying with us as we provide her home care. Her recovery time is still unknown due to the extent of her injuries. I spent 17 years in the US Army Signal Corps then another 18 years working for the army as a civilian (Instructor). I am involved in teaching IP based communications to our warfighters around the world. Deployed to Afghanistan 03, iraq 04 and Kuwait in between. Hobbies: fishing for large mouth bass, deer hunting, cooking on the patio, spending lotsa time with my family and of course driving my 94 vette when weather permits. As a young boy my dad sold chevies part time and he came home one evening with a 63 triple black vert. He took me to school the next morning in the vette and it was great! We lived 25 miles from the school so it was a nice country road ride to the city. Ever since I have had a deep passion for all vettes. My dream was a 67 427, 4spd coupe in Lemans Blue with white interior. As I got married I told the misses my dream is to own a vette. But I would not get one till our children were grown and on their own. In Feb of 07 I found the C4 I really like, LT1 coupe, auto, FX3, Polo Green Met II w/beige interior. Within a couple of years I am going to add a C6 coupe (Daytona Orange/cashmere) to the garage.

As a side bar I now understand why Tommy-T looks so haggered all the time, tyring to keep up with his spouse!!

Jeffvette, Panama is where my dad took for the ride in the 63! Have a good time there and bring back some fresh Ceviche and patacones.....

I did all the weatherstripping last spring and it doesn't take very long. Open the rear hatch, remove the 3 trim pieces if you want, the tricky step is when replacing the new weather stripping is to disconnect the 2 support rods for the rear hatch glass. I suggest using a broom handle with a towel rapped around the end supporting the hatch while afixing your new weather stripping. The whole process took me about 2 hours. It is alot easier than doing the windshield weatherstripping. Have fun!

pappyfreebird,

Our family is dealing with a similar situation. Our daughter was in a very serious auto accident in Oct 08 caused by a drunk driver. She is now at home after almost 3 months in the hospital. Wife and I are providing Home Care for her. You NEED to get a lawyer ASAP for your father to protect him from financial destruction as you have no legal control over his finances other than pay his bill(s) from your own accounts. Please know we are praying for you, your dad and your family as everyone is and will be effected by this situation. I can tell you first hand that prayer does work! Amen. We pray your dad's health will get better very fast and that the financial portion will be corrected also. Take care brother.
Fred

Pretty much everything said here is true and accurate. I can't find any faults in the facts as stated.

One important thing - CF mods cannot ban you for something said over here. They may snoop (which I find is the sincerest form of flattery), but they can't bust. What they CAN do (and I am sure they do this) is mark you for a quick death. If they don't like something said here, they will use it to find fault (or sin, haven't figured out their approach) in whatever you say. Then add it all up and turn it into a banning.

The stickies are a sore subject with me, but the upside is that everyone who looks int here is confronted with the reality that the OP is gone... and asks why.

I wish I had destroyed the text... that would have fixed them.

So my C4 Tech and RPO FAQ are still there... as is my C4 Audio FAQ.

It does not make me happy...

Andy,

You should have Intellectual Rights to the information posted in the stickies! Get a lawyer to go after CF/IB for using your writtings without written permission. Make them pay for all the times it has recorded hits since your permaban took effect.

I remember that Christmas Eve broadcast very well. We lived in Las Cumbres, Panama. We sat around the console color tv and watched the live broadcast as these were the only shows at the time that we watched in color. Thanks for reviving the memory.

How coincidental! My first train for Chrystmas was when I was 4. It was the Lionel 027 gauge. Several years later and several moves later, it disappeared and Santa replaced it with an Atlas HO set, which disappeared when I left home to join the US Army. I suspect my younger brother. As the years rolled by I got interested in the N gauge and I have been collecting engines and rolling stock for the past 33 years. My dream is to build a working display with spur tracks running in the family room and hallways in our home. Working and other things have kinda keep me from accomplishing the display but I still add cars and engines to the collection.

But, this Christmas the greatest gift is the Lord has given us our daughter back!!! It will be very hard to top this Christmas but we can extended this feeling everytime we hear her talk and sing!!

I got sucked into one of those C4 bashing post on CF OT when I first joined them a couple years back. Ahh the feel of driving in a jetfighter cockpit (C4 any model) versus driving in a cessna 150 (C5 or C6). Would I buy a C5 or C6?????? Yea, I would if the price were right and financing it wouldn't put a crunch on other things. My dream vette was always the 67 427/4spd coupe. I didn't like the C4 when it first hit the streets because it was such a radical change in the design lines of all the earlier generations. It didn't have the hp of my dads 73 Impala SS 396ci. :sad5: First time I was able to sit in the drivers seat of a C4 (85) coupe 4sp auto was in 1985 in the Netherlands, my mind was altered for ever... I had to wait almost 20 years to full fill my desire to own my first vette, a 94 C4. Since the day I bought my 94 I have a grin from ear to ear ever time I get in the vette, that my wife still laughs about. Even with the future of our daughter's recovery I would sell it if needed. With high hopes to be able to buy another one when the opertunity shows itself. I hope to keep my C4 for many years and add a C6 to share the garage side by side with the 94!

Blade_1,

I forgot about the CF banning machine.

Our daughter is doing very good. They did the skin grafting last Wednesday and first removed the bandages yesterday. The surgery team is very happy with the progress of the grafting. They will monitor it for the next week doing bedside dressing changes for both the donor and grafted sites.

Thank you all for your prayer and loving support during this ordeal. It is very much appreciated by my wife, myself and our daughter.

No, this ain't trivia; there's a bunch of '95 FSM's right now on ebay, and I'm watchin' 'em for my '94.

The old notorius "TEST PATTERN" used to adjust the picture clarity and vertical/horizontal positions. Later replaced by the vertical color bars as color tvs became more popular in homes.

So sad but true. I blame mostly the parents for not instilling the sense of pride being an American citizen. Heck most of the "Now Generation" can't tell you diddly about Viet Nam, Granada, nor Panama. But they know 911 and Afghanistan and Iraq. Hopefully or delapidated education system will get of their butts and start teaching mor about our modern times instead of trying their darndest to stop prayer, saying the Pledge of Alligence and being respectful of each other.

Share the pride:

Here is the C5 in the previous post:
Well I guess most in here know the Corvette we are talking about, just about all the mods that have been done have a specific thread here at SV. There are a couple that I have not added yet, like the carbon fiber stereo surround and rear console section, door handle and other door pieces all in the Hydro-carbon fiber overlay on original GM factory pieces, these pieces look like real carbon fiber. Anyway, I do not need to see the Z06, I just do not drive it enough to feel warranted in having it sit in my garage. It is paid for, and I have the clean good title in hand as I did the day that I bought it almost 2 years ago, it will be 2 years next month. I have put over $50k into this car in the past two years including the original purchase price.

$44,000 and pretty firm. Possible interesting trade and cash as a possiblity. No vehicle trade that is valued over 10k though, (unless it is something really nice and a good deal, but then not more then $24k value.) and it probably should be able to sit 4 people too.

Here is a list of the modifications that I have done to date, and I think that I have gotten all of them...

2002 Chevrolet Z06 Corvette, 6 speed
Millennium Yellow
Stock: 405HP - 400TQ / 0-60 MPH 3.9 seconds
12.4 @ 116 MPH in the quarter mile

Now: 555HP - 566TQ / 473RWHP - 481RWTQ

MODIFICATIONS

* Polished Magnuson Supercharger
* 3.1" smaller Billet aluminum pulley
* Methanol Injection system, with progressive injection control
* Dual coolant to air intercoolers, with seperate coolant and pump
* LS6 crank pinned
* Long tube headers
* Performance X-pipe
* Dual 4" Borla Stingers
* Dry cell light weight heavy duty battery
* MSD Boost-a-pump
* MSD Ignition wires
* Dual a-pod pillar with Magnuson boost + fuel pressure guages
* 2 piece aluminum hat Baer rotors - 14" big brake rears, 13" fronts
* CCW SP500 one piece forged aluminum polished wheels -
18" x 10" fronts, 19" x 11" rears
* BF Goodrich Potenza tires - 305/30/19's rear, 275/35/18's front
* Vara-Ram cold air intake
* Professional custom tune
* B&M short throw shifter
* Lingenfelter fuel rail/coil covers - custom painted
* Billet aluminum oil catch can
* Caravaggio supercharger hood - custom painted
* Caravaggio custom Race seats
* Clear front corner lens
* Lowered on the stock bolts
* HALO LED tail lights
* Clear LED third brake light - lights red
* Polished stainless C O R V E T T E letters front and rear
* Lloyds Embrobered "Z06 405HP" Floor mats
* Lloyds Embrodered "Z06 405HP" Trunk mat
* Andy's Partition
* Carbon fiber Z06 rear brake ducts
* Diamond clear rear side marker lens (red LED's)
* Custom made 3 piece leather console lid with red stitching
Embrodered "Z06 405HP" logo on it
* Chrome alternator
* Chrome front and rear C5 Emblems
* Hydro-carbon-fiber center console
* Hydro-carbon-fiber radio surround
* Hydro-carbon-fiber door latch surround R+L

If you are not interested in it, that is fine, if you think that it is to much and you can or should go buy a C6 instead,... well then go ahead if that is what you want. This is a very special and custom Z06, built very tastefully, and with no expense spared with the quality and/or finish of many of the parts added. It is a great deal for the person who wants a Z06 that is different and has more power and torque then any stock C6 Z06, and for a lot less, and in my opinion it looks better too.

31,100 miles as of the other day.

I have many hundreds of pictures of My ride, so just ask if you want to see something, email me if needed too at ron@fastcoolcars.com, thanks.

At the expense of sounding dumb, what :didimiss: is an lc-1 wideband controller or better, what does it do and what are the benifits? My :google: search showed up with a device from titan motorsports and the best I can tell is it has something to do with the fuel/air mixture ratio and can be applied to individual fuel injectors(?). Thanks, I guess I need a little more education...

Course that was 3 weeks earlier, and they had to 'use' that to justify their BS.

I committed the ultimate crime of asking a forum sponsor to support their claims before taking people's money. The tougher the questions became, the tougher the moderation...

Folks i am appologizing for not giving an update for the past few days but I have been bouncing from Cattanooga to Marietta and Grovetown for the past 4 days. But here is an update current to last nights visit to the Trauma ICU:

Nichole’s Update 16 Nov 08

Now I can give you a snap shot of how Nichole's weekend went. Nichole did pretty good Saturday and Sunday, opening her eyes wide and watching us while she moved her head left and right to get a better look at us. She can even nod! I know she recognizes us as I would ask her if she knew me, and if she knew her mom, and she would nod yes and look at each of us, me standing on her right and her mom standing on her left holding Nichole’s hand in hers. Nichole can squeeze your hand very firmly with her left hand. She can raise her left arm off the mattress and give a great thumbs-up sign! She is moving both feet and she will wiggle her toes on each foot when asked. She has been trying to turn on her side (mostly the left, but occasionally the right) as if to get into a more comfortable position. She listened to some gospel music and you can see the emotion in her face. She can smile a big beautiful smile and she can show sorrow and tears, which causes her dad’s tear ducts to over flow! She is definitely well on the way to recovering. Her shoulder wound is getting better. The surgeon is taking her to OR tomorrow to suture up a portion of the open wound on her right breast and rib cage side. He also is going to re-install a negative pressure pump in the shoulder area to speed up the healing process. She has a visit each day with the therapy folks and the effects of these visits are visible each day.

We tried to explain to her why she is in the strange surroundings of the Trauma ICU. You can see she is confused and of course there is some fear of the unknown. When we ask, she does not recall anything of the accident, which is a good thing for now. We call her roommate so Nichole can listen to her talking. Our daughter is coming back with a vengeance! She has always been a fighter and she does not know how to quit. She will still have a tremendous amount of therapy and rehab but she is going to conquer this. All of this is attributed to the prayers and loving support everyone has laid out on the table for her and us. Again “Thank You” just does not measure up to the love we have received.

We know Nichole is not out of the woods yet, but this sure has been a most happy and memorable couple of days in our lives! Thank you all for helping to make this happen.

Here is a little treat, this is a song, one of many, that Nichole did on the MySpace karaoke page. She has done quite a few but the renderings from MySpace do not showcase the full range and power of her voice. That has to be done live! Singing has always been her way of expressing her faith in God. Please enjoy this little sample of one of the many voices of the Lord's angles! Thanks Suzi for getting me the links! We widh you a speedy recovery and a very successful drs visit tomorrow.

http://ksolo.myspace.com/actions/showSon....24750&uid=false

love,
Fred & Marie
