Same goes for other vintages!

To give you an idea of scale, the window clingy on the left is 3" square:

Like Iron82 mentioned, half that size would be about right, if possible.

Very interested. Sell 'em in packs of two! Just an idea.

I'm interested as well.

The original size is kinda big for a small C3 window, and my clingy just doesn't show up, since my interior is black. :sad7:

I've also been looking for something nicer than the stock insulation, but haven't had any luck.

A popular alternative is to just take it all out and paint the underside. I'll probably do that myself this winter, unless I come up with something else before then.

Let us know if you come across something.

I think they all look pretty good, but the trim rings are near and dear to my heart. I have owned two first Gen Camaros with the Rally Wheels and wide trim rings and just love them. I also like the wheels painted the factory "Argent Silver". Eastwood has the paint and its cheaper than chrome.

I actually had them in stock argent with the original caps for a short time, but I just didn't care for it looking like all the rest. Also, my employer at the time could powdercoat them for free, as long as I wasn't too picky about the color.

I knew that was coming, and I agree. TTs do look great on them, and that's why a bunch of people run them. But like I mentioned about the ralleys, I'd rather have something a little different.

However, I've actually been considering these from AR. Whatcha think?

Im sure whichever one you choose it will look sharp but for some reason I like the black on yours..

They arnt the fanciest but they never go out of style.

That's definitely one of the pros to keeping them. Rings and caps will be available forever as well. :thumbleft:

They are actually dark grey, but "in the shadows" they do look black. Here's one under flash:

I've been thinking about picking up a set of chrome ralleys to replace my current ones. Would keep the same size (15x8) but drop the trim rings. Not sure about center caps, but I'm leaning toward keeping my current style.

What do the Gurus think?

For a later C3, yes. Mine was rated at 185hp from the factory, and they didn't get much better. Fortunately, its really easy to upgrade, and only limited by your wallet.

I suppose "smooth" is subjective, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss your friends' opinions.

Everyone that has driven / ridden in both agree that my '76 rides much "smoother" than Dad's '85 Z51.

Mine is slightly lowered, has new poly bushings up front, new rubber in rear, and new Monroe shocks all around. His is stock with the original rubber bushings and new shocks.

I believe the tire size makes a significant difference as well - I'm running 255s on the original 15" ralleys. Not sure about the size on his, but they're not on 15s.

That said, I have no idea how that relates to your '93, but worth mentioning.

I've "coned" a few lifters and flattened some lobes, and only found really small particles in the oil - never anything like in your pics. That looks like something was shredded instead of worn - do you have any other suspects?

There are still a few oils available that are flat tappet friendly, or you can get ZDDP additives.
Comp Cams recommended I use Rotella T 15W40. No problems after ~16k miles.

I saw it up to $4.89 this past weekend in Pigeon Forge. Apparently many stations around Knoxville were pumped dry on Friday - I heard people were buying and filling all the 5 gallon tanks they could fit in their truck bed.

Still hovering around $4.00 up here. :angry1:

Yep, significant difference between the C3 and C4 suspensions - then factor in the large sidewalls on 15" wheels. I've thought about autox'ing mine, but Dad's '85 would be a lot more fun.

I was also at work - in a meeting in my boss's office, when a coworker come in and informed us the towers had been hit. Spent the rest of the morning watching news coverage. Went to another coworker's house for a long lunch, and watched more news coverage. Went back to work, but accomplished nothing.

No chance of forgetting that - just an unbelievable feeling.
