A CNC ported intake would be the boom.

Why can you get CNC's heads but not the intake?

Thanks, I'll be needing new lifters for my blower build.

Looks like us LTX guys got something from Caddillac's SpeedGT program

Largest I heard with a stock block is a 421ci.

The walls are real thin though, so you'll need to shop around

With long strokes you need to run a reduced base circle cam.

Here's a good pic to keep in mind.

Yea Brian, The rodends on top & bottom of the shocks is pretty universal. This is totally different. This was developed for the Formula Atlantic/Indy Car guys. They found that when a coilover spring compresses, it can actually tilt and bind up. They call the part a Hydraulic Load Centering Perch. They sit directly on the spring, between the spring and the adjusters. I know a few guys who run them, they claim that the sperin compression feels more linear. Hi Tech Expensive Chit
Kevin was talking about stuff binding up, I just threw this in because suspension binding is not a good thing.

Interesting, very interesting.

I'm putting an S-trim on mine, a T-trim will fit but they're reverse rotation kits. The one you have probably isn't. You might be able to get it to fit, but it's going to need a lot of fab work.

I'm stepping up my short block to deal with the boost of my S-trim, you'll have even more to deal with on a t-trim.

Gary you made it!

I've know Gary for years.

Had plenty of times at the track with him.

He's the one I'm getting the Penske coilover setup from.

BTW In case your wondering what a Hardbar is, here's a pic, complete with camera mount.
Been running it for years to mount my harness to, really stiffens up the car as well.

In the pro level cars, they've even found that there's binding in the coilover shock assembly. Hypercoil came up with hydraulic spring pars that eliminate this.

I'll have rod ends on both ends of my shocks.
Gary @ Hardbarusa.com has come up with some new mounts.

I was in Pittsburgh on a contract.

Then I went to Denver for a couple of months.

I just happened to get another one back in PA.

Great showing of Corvettes near Pittsburgh.

I should be around here long enough that we can work something out.

I'd have to get out of the rust belt to get one now.

Hauling 4x8 sheets of ply in the back would be great, but I could always put it in the trailer.

The boat doesn't weight much, so that's not an issue. Taking it to out of the way put-ins would be cool.

I knew about the spacers, I'm just surprized the actual mounts under them were straight. That said, I was going to ask for the spacer measurements next.

Another excellant job.

Yes, having the engine there makes is a real PITA to measure.

They're parallel to the centerline? That's surprising.

How far up does the shock mount come in this picture?

The more measurements the better.

The length of each link from where they actually pivot including the lengths of the halfshafts and distance between the u-joints on the diff.

I'll also need the spacing fore and aft.

Hilmar is doing and excellant job on the fronts.

It's a lot of work, but it needs to be done.

Subject: Bay State Corvette Club January Update

Hi Everyone,

On Saturday evening, January 26th, we are heading down to the Cinema Pub on Rte 1 in North Attleboro. If you have never been there before, why don't you plan on joining us? For those of you who have not been there before, it is a dinner theater where you watch a recently released movie while you eat dinner. Movies usually start around 8:00 PM. I'll be able to send out what movies and show times we can choose from when the list of movies becomes available next week. Let me know if you are interested in going.

Sue and George will be hosting the club's 37th anniversary party at their home in Milford on Saturday evening, February 23rd. The theme for this year's gift swap is "Summer". Thanks to Linda Carrabba for coming up with this year's theme.

Well, you've heard about it, and you've seen it on the cover of Road and Track, Car and Driver, and Motor Trend, this month. It is the long awaited 600+HP 2009 ZR1 Corvette. We have the opportunity to see this car before almost everyone in the country. It will be on display at the Attleboro Arts Museum from March 21st to May 16th. On Saturday, March 29th, there will be a special presentation of the car, by invitation only. Guest speaker will be GM Chief Designer Kirk Bennion. There are 4 presentations, 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, and 4 PM. Seating will be limited to 75 people per presentation. The 1st 75 will be assigned to the 10 AM presentation, the next 75 will be assigned to the 12 PM presentation, and so on. Tickets for this special event are $50. Admission will get you into the rest of the museum as well, which is closed to the general public for the day. If you are interested in going as a group, let me know, and I can try to place an order for the tickets at one time, so that we can all attend the same showing.

You can also check out the event on you own by visiting their web site at www.attleboroartsmuseum.org.

Casey. Please translate the following terms into American English: stubby, paddocks, esky, ute, dunny, and roo. Thanks.

Ok mate, here they are:

stubby: a 375ml bottle of beer (as apposed to a "tallie", which is a 750ml bottle of beer)
paddocks: Fields
esky: large insulated food/drink container for picnics, barbecues etc
ute: utility vehicle, pickup truck
dunny: Toilet, bathroom, lavatory
roo: Kangaroo.

http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html

Now I'm not sure which is funnier, the intended version, or the one I had going in my head before I knew what the translation was

Well, you've definitely convinced me not to buy it,
not to meantion given me something to print out and give to the seller when he asks why .

The seller's daily driver is an Expedition, the Rover was his GF's.
He actually does a lot of towing himself.
I asked why he didn't get a 1 ton pickup.
He said the large SUV's were cheaper used,
and that the large Ford SUV's were cheaper than the Chevies.

Something for me to think about.

I'm creating a CAD model so I can find out what changes what, I've got some lengths, but if you can measure some of the rear parts up, I'll copy you on the model and see what difference your changes make.

Been searching for a tow vehicle to haul my Corvette to the track.

Open trailer 2000lbs, electric brakes on both axles.

Resized Image

I've been checking out 1/2 ton pickups,
but someone at my new contract is selling and old, 87, Range Rover looks to be a nice truck and I've always like them.
He's asking $7500 for it, 80k on the odo.

Kind wonder if that old Buick V8 has the suds to pull it though.

Anything else I should look out for?

Sorry on the model delay.

I'm still getting settled in PA, I'm on a contract for Lycoming engines.

I brought everything I need, well except my car.

If someone wants a C5, be my guest.

I just don't like the looks, and can't stand it when people want me to sell mine and 'upgrade'. Most of the time I bite my tongue because there's nice people who own them too.

Of course I did like it that time I went bracket racing in SoCal and all the C5's lost in the 1st round

Sounds like a match made in heaven.

I'm really digging my contract working on aircraft engines.
I'm hoping it goes long term.

Turns out one of the guys I'm working with has an '84

And there's two other guys at the plant that own Corvettes.

Get time taking the tour. A dozen dynos all going at the same time.

Nice town, kinda like going back in time to the 1950's

The current fuel injection is constant flow. We'll be upgrading it to EFI.
I can't say who's doing the redundant controller, but it's a major player in the world of car racing.

Just checked in a couple of hours ago.

Jr,
They have fuel injection on some of the engines.
The aerobatic ones in particular.
Carbs aren't to crazy about being asked to work inverted ;)

That's one of the planes they put them on.

Lycoming's eight-cylinder IO-720 series engines produce 400 horsepower at 2,650 RPM. These 720 cubic inch, fuel-injected engines have been the driving force of the high-performance Comanche "400" and of agricultural workhorses like the Brave and the Ipanema.

They also make the only FAA certified piston helicopter engines.

I don't know if it's digital.
I'm really looking forward to checking this out tomorrow.

Bill,
Still know anyone there?
I'll tell them you said hello.

Speaking of small worlds, I'll be reporting back to the HQ in Wilmington where I had my 1st professional job!

I've got a contract in Williamsport, PA
This time I'm putting fuel injection on aircraft engines.

Should be interesting, they still run leaded gas in planes, so no O2 sensors!
Exhaust gas temp sensors instead.

Picking up the new rental car tomorrow.
I wonder what I'll get this time!

Now that you meantion it

Actually if you could get those too, I'd then have all the zero scrub measurements.

BTW eDrawings will let you look at all the SolidWorks parts and it's FREE

Hit the track w/o a cooler and you'll eventually blow the hose.

I've seen it too many times. L98, LTX or even the LSX cars ( yes the cooler was an option on those cars )

The stock location isn't that great to begin with, not too much air gets to it.

Run a separate duct to it if you can.
