Hey guys, yes, it's been a while
Having trouble getting the 95 Vette into diagnostic mode. Cars is skipping and the check engine light came on. I tried jumping J2 to J4 & J5 Nothing. I've done it before, but it's been a while. I check the AC fuses

Saw Wheeler Dealers work on a C5 last week.
https://www.motortrendondemand.com/det ... rvette-c5-z06/0_p35cu91u/ I get removing the Torque tube to change the clutch I also get pulling the transaxle But dropping the entire rear cradle with the suspension to change a clutch??? Did they at least change this on the later cars?

Must be brake month, now my 2009 Silverado 2500 is asking for pads. What make are you running? Not really interested in putting the stock pads back in, not enough initial bite. Also being my winter ride daily driver, I was thinking of PFC's Thoughts?

On the way home the light never came on.
I read the FSM, it's a differential sensor. So I have a leak in the system, from the lack of fluid, I'm gathering the o-ring between the two circuits is going. BTW the FSM has full instructions on rebuilding both the master cylinder and the booster, if you can get a rebuild kit. Those 23 year old lines have never undone, they generally break and need to be replaced when they are that old. I just need to figure out how far I want to pick at the scab. I did by 6 piston calipers for the car, but I never put them on since they only fit my racing rims which will now not pass MA inspection do to the width. Which means I'd need a different set of calipers, which need anyways since the old ones are showing their age.

Hello, how's everyone been?
Drove my Corvette ('95) to work today, went to take my exit and I noticed my "Brake Pressure" light was ON! I slowed down and checked my brakes, which still worked. When I go off the highway I turned it off and back on, the light went out but came back home later. I check the fluid level, looked normal. I looked underneath, no puddles. I'm thinking either my booster or ABS module took a dump. I'll dig out the FSM (factory service manual) when I get home. I'm assuming ABS codes will come up on the dash. BTW it's SUPERCHARGED and there is a check valve, but it of course could have gone bad any advice?

On a new one or the damaged one?
The damaged one is to far gone. On a new one, not really necessary, just unscrew the mount. The shocks are back from Penske. Seems I was wrong, it did NOT bottom out. The shock managed to take a side load. Looking back I remember clipping an apex. That may have started it to fail. The pothole just pushed it over the edge. The shock got twisted as the mount came apart.

The shocks are off getting rebuilt with shorter rods The upright is JUNK, cannot be repaired Coming up with a different mount scheme Of course that means buying 2 so they match.

Dropped the rear shocks and upright off Here's hoping for good news Seems obvious that the shock bottomed out before hitting the bump stops I'm pricing some shorter rods

FINALLY!
My neighbor had length of steel pipe that I trusted as a cheater bar. That got the nut off Got the upright off the car. The damage looks weldable. The shock on the other hand. The rod is no longer centered in the body. It probably got torqued. I'll have to tear it down and see what's going on.

Went out and got a 3/4 drive breaker bar and appropriate socket
I'm STANDING ON it and it will won't move Hit the end of the breaker bar with a sledge, still nothing.

Managed to break my breaker bar trying to get the stub axle nut off.
I'll get another one and perhaps another impact gun My battery powered one won't cut it.

Looks like I'll be needing a new upright & mount
I should probably rebuild the shock as well BTW these mounts are NOT as they are sold. I needed to reposition hole to get the clearance I needed. In the process the bolt holding the shock on no longer aligns with the former shock bolt location. The induced torque is what twisted the end of the casting off.

I'm going to take it apart this weekend
My be able to get it welded If not, I'll have to locate another stock upright & a coilover over mount which needs to be modified to clear my rod end links. Then have it all welded up again.

Not a good year for the Vette
1st I needed to get my engine oil leak under control I rerouted the PVC, that helped out quite a bit Then the supercharger pulley destroys itself from the engine torquing it into the frame rail Now, driving around town to see if I got it all straightened out I hit pothole in front of a railroad track and the mount for my coilover shock got TORN OFF the upright!
