Sunny out today but chilly.
We're still kicking here in Mo. Just a catch up. We ended the year on a good note. We had our first Christmas in the new house and my parents were able to come up for that weekend.
The start of the year hasn't been so good though. My brother came up to help straighten up some electrical issues. We put a new outside light on the garage and fixed some wiring problems in the house and added a 3 way for the hall light.
Traced down where all the circuit breakers went to and got them labeled.
The bad part is that our dog got hit by a truck yesterday and we had to put him down. His back got broken and he couldn't walk and was in pain. The Mrs is taking it hard. We had him for 5 yrs and he was part of the family. It was a hard thing for me to do, but he's no longer in pain.

The Mrs came home from the hospital today. Surgery was a success according to the Dr. She's in good spirits and is glad to be home. Now we're on the road to recovery.
It was a beautiful day here today. Not too hot in the mid 70's. Should be about the same tomorrow. Chilly in the morning mid 50's.

I don't think I could put up with Yorkies. Our 4yr old lab mix is enough. I'm so glad we don't have a pool anymore. Way too much work to maintain. Especially when we only used it once or twice in the summer.
Looking forward to the long weekend. get some rest and do some chores around here.

Well Mrs B had her surgery today to fix her lower left jaw.
She had radionecrosis on her lower left jaw bone from the cancer treatment she had years ago, Cancer and radiation the gifts that keep on giving, We got good news from the Dr this evening. Everything went well. Now on to the recovery. She'll be in the hospital for the next week, Just me and the dog, He misses her tonight.
Good luck with Arron's surgery tomorrow Letty. I feel for ya we were up at 3;30 this morning.

Was hot n humid here. Having thunderstorms tonight. Cooling off but gonna be hot and humid again tomorrow.
To answer your question Letty an earth contact home is one that is built into the side of a hill or burm. It's suppose to help keep the house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

I do like my new shop. IT's 24 x 40. Now I just need to get it set up.

Really hot and humid here near KC. Temps for the next week is suppose to be above normal in the mid to upper 90's with the humidity to go with it. Yuk. We went to the Dr the other day for the Mrs. Turns out she needs more surgery. Gotta love cancer and radiation, the gifts that keep on giving,
She's cancer free but the radiation took its toll on her jaw. She developed Necrosis in her left jaw bone. She's a trooper and she's trying to keep her spirits up.
On a brighter note we love the new house we bought. It's an earth contact home. So far it's been nice. Not too bad on the electricity with the AC running. I got a 40x24 shop too.

I have one last thing to move out of storage and it is the hardest. My gun safe. 850 lbs worth.

I'll keep in touch just wanted to let ya'll know we're not dead yet.

Went and got some more stuff from the storage unit. I'll get that unloaded by the end of the week hopefully. The Mrs wants to hang a curtain rod tomorrow. Looks like the honey do list is growing. Well we're being sued by the people who bought our house saying we breached the contract. We have to have a conference call with the lawyer soon. Time to hit the hay. Ha ve a good night gang,

It was sunny and warm here today. Got my trailer unloaded today. The Mrs had her new washer and dryer delivered. I started to mow the lawn today and the zero turn took a crap.
The belt tensioner spring broke. Hopefully I can get one tomorrow. If not looks like the lawn will wait till later in the week when the rain goes away.

It was 75 here today. Not much else going on. I went and got 4 tires for the dually yesterday and boy what sticker shock. The Mrs is excited to have a house again instead of living in the trailer. I'm looking forward to it also. Love the global warming Tommy.

Some updates.
I got a job in the Kansas City area about 6 months ago.
We sold our old house last month and are in the process of buying a new house here in the area. It's going to be nice to not be living in our 5th wheel. It's a little cramped with the dog.
Looking forward to spring getting here.

Floor looks great. We use Walgreens here.

We've had rain on and off here for the last week. Had a few tornados in the area. I think at least in our little part of the state we can say the drought is over. Should have more rain tonight but clearing up for a nice end to the week and weekend.

Welcome to the cold new year. Yea we have global warming.
-5 when I got up. Dog didn't take long to his business.
Suppose to be cold most of the week. Got the fire burning keeping the house warm. Went out and split some wood. Not something I don't want to every day. Have enough to keep the Mrs. with wood for the week. Cheaper than running furnace.

We moved into this new house last December. That was our Christmas present last year.

This year we got tree and it felt good to decorate. We both are in a Christmas mood this year. The Mrs wanted to open a present last night but I said no we have to wait. First year in a long while we were able to get some gifts for each other which felt really good.

Super warm here this year. Temp is 63 so no white Christmas this year but that is ok.

I'm still kicking. Checking in. It turned out to be a nice day so far after they predicted rain. Bought a new to me 54" zero turn on Monday. Mowed the lawn Wed and Thurs. Today was the hard work. Walking around doing the weed eating. I forgot how much work that is. I did enjoy it though. I enjoy being a home owner again. I brought home my push mower and riding mower from my parents. Now the next project is to get them running. Change oil, new belts for the rider, and new carburetor for the push mower. Spent almost $20 on a new carburetor, for that price it isn't worth messig with the old one.

Happy Mothers day to all the Moms.
Spent the weekend at my parents house.
Gave mom a nice bottle of scotch.
Picked up my riding mower, push mower and a 3pt rototiller for the tractor. Have work to do they have been sitting for a while. Next trip down we need to pick up a 3pt chipper for my tractor.

Was cold and crappy most of the day today for the drive home.
Going to go look at 54" zero turn tomorrow.

That is about all we got.

The day started wit some sunshine then was gloomy and cloudy all day. Had to work on the tractor today. Blew a hydraulic hose yesterday. Replaced that one today to have another one blow. So tomorrow another run to O'reillys to get a couple more hoses made. They are old so some preventative measures will go along way. Not much else going on. Gad the temps are above freezing.

Thursday I had a deer not yield the right of way last week in the corvette. No one hurt. Looks like mostly cosmetic damage. No suspension damage that I could tell. Air bags did not deploy. Nothing hurt but my pride. Needless to say I was late for work. This week we are now waiting on the insurance company.

My lovely wife pointed out that it was a year ago this week that I totaled the Acadia.

Not much else happening here.

It seems since you retired your more busy than when you were teaching.

As far as winter goes here I am not complaining. Been mild with mostly rain and very little snow. If it stays like this it will be fine with me.

We are finally living in the new house. Feels great to be out of the trailer. Hope everyone that is feeling down gets better soon. Now we have the arduous task of going through all the boxes that haven't been gone through in 10 yrs.
The wood stove does keep the house nice and warm. Haven't used the fireplace yet.

We have had a heck of a week so far.
My lovely wife had to ask what was next last week when we had a nail in the right rear tire of the vette with no road hazard. Won't be buying tires at the dealer any more. Road hazard wasn't offered there. Nail is right at the shoulder of the tire where the tread and sidewall is. New tire is on the horizon. Then her hard drive crashed on her laptop.
Our cat of 18yrs wasn't feeling to well on Monday. We went to the vet tonight and ended up putting her down. It was one of the hardest things I have had to do. Needless to say the Mrs. is quite upset. Things seem to happen in 3's.

We'll be making the trip to the folks house tomorrow. We'll lay her to rest in the pet cemetery at my folks place.

Looking forward to some good turkey.

On some good news we'll be closing on the new house soon. Maybe around the 1st or 2nd of December. Been looking forward to this day for a while now. Living in the fifth wheel is getting old.
