Hey guys its been awhile. . .'96 vette my Service engine soon light is on (egr vlave) and the LTPWS light pops up . . . How hard is it to take the bulbs out? Ive got a date tonite and I dont want the car to be lit up like a christmas tree. . OBviously fixing the cause of the problem is the ideal thing to do, but. . .

seems like the light comes on soon as I crank it though. given what you said, its the switch. Itll probably be a good idea to get it read one more time before i go buying parts

Ive got two lights on my DIC- Service LTPWS and a service engine. . . Service engine light is on because of the egr and im pretty sure the sensors in my wheels are dead, thus leading to the LTPWS light.

How do I get rid of them perminately? From wht ive read the LTPWS is worthless and people have eliminated the EGR system, something which Ill probably end up doing. . I dont want to pull out light bulbs or anything, but if theres a sensor or something I can bypass or if theres a way to get into the computer to shut it off please let me know, Thanks!

I just did the A/C clutch with no problems but now Ive got something worse going on. I keep fiding puddles of water on the passenger floor board. All the seals are good, theres no signs of leaking that I could find anywhere as far as the top and door/window go.

Im thinking maybe the heater core broke? I havent found any water on the drivers side floorboard. . . TIA everyone

Lol I was kidding about the belt. . . theres a ton of stuff under the hood of the car. . . Ill have to get a better look at the hoses as I just kind of glanced over the parts last I saw the car.

It looks like getting the belt off is going to be harder than getting the clutch off. The hoses dont look like theyll be much of a clearence issue though. Thanks for the reply

Was driving the car yesterday when the air started to blow warm. I smelled a burning smell and popped the hood to see the compressor clutch smoking and kind of wobbly as the engine idled.

Im assuming the clutch bearing went out and that Ill have to replace it. Has anyone swapped thiers out that can give me some pointers?

For example- The chevy service manual says I have to discharge the system. Im not about to argue with the manual, but is that really neccesary? Anything else would be good to know. Thanks

Oh the cars a '96 LT1

My "Service LTPWS" light is coming on (has been for some time). . . Is there any way to disable the system? Thanks

p.s. I looked in the Chevy service manual with no luck.

Anyone have any advice on cleaning the engine bay? I know not to directly spray electronics and that i should probably leave the engine running. . . watch out for the opti or is it less venerable on the 96? thanks
