Anyone have any advice on cleaning the engine bay? I know not to directly spray electronics and that i should probably leave the engine running. . . watch out for the opti or is it less venerable on the 96? thanks

looks nice!

the later opti much more resistant to moisture... but you still don't wanna flood it.

I would hit the front of the engine with simple green and use a very low pressure hose to rinse it off. That's what I do with my 92.

Don't be surprised if it runs a little funny right after... that's why I would do it on a cold dry engine, and let it sit in the sun for a while before starting. Otherwise, the plug wires can get a little damp.

I guess you know the vehicle history pretty well then.
Kudos to pop for keeping it in the family. Nice ride too.

Hey, nice color

As bogus said, the '96 Opti is much harder to "Kill" with water. I have washed my LT4 engine many times.

As he also said though, don't directly spray the hose right at the Opti. And I wouldn't use one of those high pressure wands either.
