Wow it looks like you guys had a good showing. Congrats on placing, I would have been happy with anything at that show. To tell the truth there wasn’t much competition at the show I was at. A bunch of mustangs and a few other cars that looked like they had bought everything that Auto Zone sells. One thing I notice at some of the smaller shows is the lack of attention to detail. I just don’t understand it they leave wires hanging out and things like that. I had one guy ask me what I would do to his car and I didn’t have the heart to say scrap it and start over. :detail2:

Todd do you think we can expect to see you at the Columbia Hooters show May 9th? I really want to finally get to meet you and see your Vette. We can always arrange a place for you to stay if you don't want to drive both ways in one day and Curt and I will make sure you're taken care of.

That is one I would like to make. I need to look at a map to see if I can find a way out there on the back roads. I’m not looking forward to 2 hours on the interstate. I can’t believe it would be good for the paint. So in short yeah I would like to make it out there sometime. I just need to get off my butt and go. As for the overnight trip I really cant do that because I am always on call at work. We operate during the night and I cant be more than 30 minuets away during operation. It would be nice and thanks for the offer. I’ll extend the same offer to you and Curtis if you guys come out here for a show. You guys are more than welcome here.

Curtis,DB,
Sorry I couldn’t make it, but the rain was too close for me to chance. It worked out for me that I didn’t go. I went to a local show and won best of show and got 100 smackers in the process. Were there many cars there? Where are the pics? Are you guys coming up for the Outlaw show here on the 25th?

Those pictures make me miss home. Any of you Tennessee boys going to the shades of the past show in Pigeon forge this month. I will be there with my lawn chair in hand, but no car. Oh well maybe for the fall show I’ll bring it down.

I like the idea of the headrest speakers, especially in a vert.

They work well for me. I had to use the lower power channel of the amp and turn it down to keep them from over powering the rest of the system. They do help get the highs to your ears, but you don’t notice you have speakers at you head.

Thanks for all the positive comments, I really appreciate it from car guys who understand the work it takes.

Nice quality work. Does the jack compartment door vibrate when you turn the music up or do you raise it when you listen?

That was a concern of mine also. The short answer is no, but my door fits tight. When you close the door it actually sounds better. I have always been a fan of the JL 8W6 or 7 subs, so I was worried about going with a Kicker, but it was the only one with the small air space requirements. Let me say this thing hits HARD for an 8” sub! It sounds as good as a 10” JL 8W6 I had in a convertible mustang. The question should be does the rest of the car rattle and the short answer is YES. I have some work to do with dynamat in places I never expected to vibrate. I’ll get it quieted down, I guess it a good problem to have. I didn’t think a convertible Vette could have a sound system that sounded this good and be mainly hidden.

I thought I would share with the guys on here what I have been working on the past couple of weeks.

First the stereo up grade:
JL 500/5 amp with Infinity 6 X9 speakers in the rear and a hidden Kicker Solo-baric L7 8” sub in the jack compartment.(with a correct air space, sealed box)

Memphis audio speakers in the headrest of the Fiero seats and a Kenwood deck. I didn’t put speakers in the kick panels because I wanted a clean look rather than sound quality. I know it would sound better with them up front but I just couldn’t do it.

Next the door panel inserts:
I had some time to kill and this is what I came up with.

I run 93 in mine,(10 to 1 CR) but one of my buddies runs the 110 and just filled up for 4.00 a gallon. He was so excited he took a 55-gallon drum back to fill up for later. Last year he was paying close to 10.00 a gallon.

He is probably trying to pay for the “custom” stickers he put on it.

Thanks Buddy,
I plan on trying to make one of the shows in Columbia even if I just drive the Honda up. I doubt I will bring the Vette since I have done quite a bit of work on it this year and no road time yet. It would make me nervous to head out on a trip that far and no test time.

Hello DB,
Good to see you here. That looks like the same switch that BTO sent me with my 200r4, it should work great for you. Have you got your tranny in now?

Hi guys,
Newby here, I have seen a few familiar faces here and thought I would join. What I like the most is the positive attitude the members have. I have a 69 convertible that I am always tinkering on that I don’t think will ever be finished.( I don’t tell the wife that tho) I hope I can offer some help and receive some in return.
