I got two new Knock Sensors to put in today. From what I understand I don't need to put anything on the threads, as they come out of the box with a red thread compound or paint already on them. Is this correct?
Any affirmation on that assumption? Thanks |

I just got off my arse and dug up my FSM book II - that one is heavier than book one! I hate to pick it up.
Anyhow to answer my own question and any others that follow this thread. FSM says in NOTICE: Do not apply thread sealant to sensor threads. Sensor is coated at factory and applying additional sealant will affect the sensor's ability to detect detonation. Tighten to 14 lb. ft. |

OTOH, when combatting false knock from RR or other mods, a little thread tape helps to desensitize the KS.

I've got a LT4 Knock Module to assist there.
