I'm looking at a recent data log of mine and still wondering why my MAF rate is still low.

This is a screen shot of a log I did today. Notice the max rpm is 6326. The air flow actually hit it's highest point at 5863 rpm.

What if anything does this tell me? Aren't these g/s rates still low for my mods? Shouldn't they be more in the 320-340 g/s range?

My tuner may wants to try using speed density just to see what if anything changes with the motor. Thoughts on this?

It sounds to me like the cam is falling off...

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the 96 have a MAP and MAF? I thought that the computer swapped sensors at WOT??? Am I totally smoking crack?

Yep, both MAP and MAF. Does it switch to MAP at WOT or the other way around?

Ya know, I've never been happy with this cam! The car hasn't been right since I installed it. I even went to get a dyno tune not long after I installed it. The tuner there said he couldn't do anything with it because one side of the motor was acting different than the other side and he did not know why. It appears that is still happening. Maybe the grind is just totally wrong on it.

I know this is a little off topic here, but I still think your valve springs are too stiff.
This camshaft would be happier with Beehives 918's. I had stiff springs on an engine, and when i switched to beehives it was a different engine. revved easier etc.

Maybe it is Steve. IF I do change them though I believe I'd rather have a double spring. Nothing against the Beehives I'd just feel better knowing there were two there instead of one. I'd probably just go with the AFR-8017 like I should have to begin with.

I am with you on having a extra spring for safety. But Beehives are used as factory equipement on many engines, including all LS engines.

Two springs equals twice as many things to break!!!

FWIW I used beehives and my engine revs to my limiter of 6800 no problem...IMHO beehives represent state of the art in valve train technology and to the best of knowledge have proven to be highly reliable

..but back to your concerns, looks like your MAP is at 99.8 at 5863 rpm......just curious do you have a MAP logged from this same run at a lower rpm??? ..going way back to your not enough air posts, which I am not sue if you ever resolved or not..

I got the g/s up to 320 something so that seemed to satisfy my tuner.

Here's another screen shot at about 2800 rpm. Same log.

Have you checked out your MAP sensor? is the little orange gasket good? etc?

I tried two different ones. No change. The gasket is a little ragged at the very bottom but no cracks and the ribs are good and seems to be tight when inserted in the intake.

I may have discovered part of my problem. The connector for the MAF sensor either has a loose connection or a bad wire. I can wiggle one wire and it will completely disconnect the sensor. I've ordered a pigtail from EFI Connection.

MAP here doesn't mean much since throttle is not 100% open.

My point is that the barometer is 102.21 and MAP is 99.8 which means you are losing 102.2-99.8=2.4 in the intake system...I do not how this compares to the norm, but I feel it represents at least a measureable loss of potential power.....if your dyno guy could tell you the correction factors for 102.2 vs 99.8, all else being the same, you would have an idea of how much power we are talking about...wish I knew, would certainly like to know..

Hope your bad wire/connector solves your problem

Good luck!!!

I hope it does to because I have no clue where else to look. I also ordered a new Delphi MAP sensor so maybe between the two it's one of them.

I made another screen shot. It had just hit 100% throttle here.
