This applies to 1994 LT1 Engines -
I know the ECT in the right side head sends a signal to the dash panel and the one in the water pump sends its signal to the PCM. Are these the same part?
Why I ask is that I bought an ECT connector and pigtail to replace the broken one that connects to the head and it came with two wires. The currently installed connector only uses one wire. Is that correct? I must have bought a new connector for the ECT that goes to the water pump instead of the correct one. WTF. I always get these two mixed up

No. Different sensors.

Two wires = waterpump sensor
One wire = head temp sensor

Thanks Andy. That's not what I wanted to hear but I knew it when I went to replace the connector and it only had one wire coming from the harness.... Oh well, I have another order to make to RockAuto anyway.

If they are the same sensor just remove one of the wires from the pigtail and you are GTG.

The plug is different... and not the same sensor. The one on the head is just a basic blade type that grounds to the block... the one on the WP has 2 wires, for feedback to the electronic IP temp display and for the ECM.
