Isn't the coolant temp sensor (cts) and the analog gauge sensor/sending unit two seperate part numbers? If so, maybe you were given the wrong sensor?

I'm running the Bosch III 32's in my 94 and they definately respond to tuning differently than the stock injectors. I had a difficult time dialing mine in. Using what I would use on the stock injectors the Bosch III's would be so rich at start at times I would have to hold the gas pedal to the floor to shut the injectors off, then it would run dangerously lean at cruise.

If you are going to run the Bosch III's I would highly recommend buying some datalogging software before you put too many miles on the car.

An LT4 with a Hot Cam should run OK with the stock tune. It may have a hard time idling with the A4's low idle rpm, but there is not extensive tuning that needs to be done to get it to run.

You mention new injectors, are they Bosch III's?

You could also try resetting the PCM by disconnecting the negative cable, sometimes this will help clear things for a new tune.

I did a tune for a guy that was running the wrong knock sensors, it ran fairly well but was pulling 12* of timing at idle.

It is possible that the tune/file was corrupt when flashed into your PCM, I had that happen once. Can you flash your own PCM? If so, flash the stock tune back in and see if it will idle.

If you are running the LT4's OBDII knock sensors you will have to switch back to the OBDI sensors from your 95. The OBDII knock sensors are not compatible with your OBDI PCM.

I'm guessing that the ARP stud base is longer because many use these with guide plates.

There is no LT4 specific knock sensor, only OBDI and OBDII sensors.

As for the LT4 knock module, will only work in the 94-96 cars.

One of my headlight motors still had the bushings intact, and they looked almost exactly like the ones you are refering to. They were about $9 per side.

Bogus, first picture is from your article. Second pic is the Home Depot bushings. They are a bit different, but for ~25 cents/each you can't beat the price and they have a pretty good track record.

I recently replaced my headlight bushing with Home Depot nylon bushings. They are located in the Hardware section in the drawers with specialty bolts/bushings. For less than $2 you can get enough bushings (6) to do both sides.

It was easier for me to remove the entire headlight assembly to do the repair.

Hmm, I used Winflash several years ago, but it was with Windows XP. Can you just try the other available Com ports? If I remember right the fist available port didn't work with mine either.

The Summit standard timing set probably wouldn't require clearancing and should work fine with a stock engine. But, how long is the engine going to be stock?

I just looked up the 9-1145 and it is a double roller, would probably require the same clearancing as the 9-3145. I converted my 94 to the Gen II opti using a 95 timing cover and a Cloyes 9-3145. It required very little clearancing. If you do go this route make sure you use the timing cover gasket with the timing cover when checking for clearance.

The LT4 Extreme duty timing set will work, but it's about three times the price of the Cloyes. Cloyes makes a 9-1145 timing set that is listed for the same application as the 9-3145. The 9-1145 is ~$57. Any conventional SBC timing set that is listed for an OEM roller cam should work. Summit brand has two, ~$27 and ~$38.

If they are the same sensor just remove one of the wires from the pigtail and you are GTG.

Don, all I know is you can put a 160* stat in an LT1 and it will run 177*-182* on the highway compared to a stock 180* stat that will run 190*+.

It is a proven fact that the LT1 will run cooler on the highway with a 160* stat.

That cam should run real smooth and be easy to tune in your 383.

I'm running a 224/230(.050),605/622(1.6),112+2 LSA in my 350 and it is pretty mild sounding with no bucking even at low rpms.

Now he uses it sort of as a feature and loves it. He puts his automatic in 2 gear and rides it up to 6000, after hitting the rev limiter he shifts manually into 3rd.
Now he can have his eyes on the road and doesn't need to worry about the revs anymore. Like I said, he loves it.

I can't see using the rev limiter/fuel cut-off as a shift point. Your friend's engine may be running on borrowed time.

I'm running a similar spring to your current, without any ill effects. Before these I was running 918 beehives and they didn't work well with my camshaft (224/230 605/622).

I don't see how your current springs could effect your blms?

If the cam is wrong then wouldn't the combustion not be as complete as it should?

Back when I had that "Problem,Problems,Problems" thread at CF one of the responses was that my compression numbers because they were so high was a good sign the cam was advanced. I have those numbers somewhere but for the most part they were 200-220 I believe.

Your tuner can add closed TPS timing to help clean up the combustion at idle.

Those compression numbers are very similar to mine.

My camshaft is similar to yours in duration 224/230. The lift is 605/622 (1.6), LSA 112, and has 2* advance ground in. Alot of the aftermarket LTx cams seem to have 2-4* built in. My car has tons of low end grunt, and I wouldn't think 2* advance would make a big difference over yours.

WOW, you never give up in the quest for more power and better ET's. I'm betting the ported LT1 intake will help a little with a power increase. Instead of a camshaft change why not change the rockers to 1.7's and get the lift around 600. With the heads you are running the extra lift should be extra HP without driveability issues.

Here I am again trying to spend your money. A few years ago I got to the point where I felt my stock shortblock was just about maxed out and my quest ended.

Steve I'm running the same CNC Cylinder Heads ported stock heads, one of Pete's custom grind camshafts (224/230 605/622 112), and the stock LT1 shortblock. My M6 car will consistantly trap 119 mph. So, it looks like to me that our heads are at least comparable to even the best aftermarket heads.
