Fredbird | A/C Compressor question... | ||

I'm going to be replacing the A/C Compressor on my 1991. I've looked at the compressor that is for my car, but it's very expensive. I've read that the compressor on a 1991 Camaro Z28 will fit as well... (about 150.00 cheaper) However, it does not look anything like the one I've currently got. is there a conversion that needs to be done? Is there a lot of work to make this fit?
Thanks for any input you guys have. |

I would get the right fitment. I saw one on NAPA reman'd with clutch for $470.00.
I am getting ready to do AC upgrades on my 92, but I am going all the way to a full on 96 system for R134. At 180k, my compressor and clutch are more then likely on their last legs, and the condenser is absolute junk... poor thing. Use the 96 hoses and I am set. I am going to reach out to www.Vette2Vette.com for my bits, you may wish to do the same. Low mileage used is usually better then reman'd. |

I don't know how that compressor is supposed to fit. The 92-96 factory units use 4 bolts to hold them to the bracket.

Good catch, I didn't notice that. I just realized it is for a ZR1. |
