i upgraded the ecm to a 165 in my '85. i think i may be getting some false knock counts. i still have the '85 knock sensor in there. is the '89 ks less sensitive? if you have upgraded to the 165 ecm, do you use the later knock sensor?

Actually you should be fine, since 86 also uses the 7165 ECM!

I burned a couple of chips for 86 using the later 88 and 89 MAF bins, thus far no problems with knock retard.

I know for sure, the 90-91 sensor is extremely sensitive!!!
I do get 8-10° spark knock but never heard a thing to really confirm this data. I just learned to live with it in my 91. Don't want to give up on my low end torque.
