HorribleHerb A/C Trouble shoot question!

My a/c works fine after I disconnect my negative cable and put it back on.
The problem is it usually doesn't work after I shut the engine off.

I've replaced the low pressure sensor (93 C4) and it worked but then didn't after shut down.(engine)

I also replaced the digital control box on the dash and again it did the same thing.

I was told that to reset the system you need to disconnect both positive and negative cables and touch them together and this resets the systems.

I never heard that before. It was done and a/c worked until the engine was shut down and then it was out again.

The freon was checked when it was working and was good.

Anyone out there have any ideas?

Is there a way to have the control tested?

did you press the low and high fan switches together at the same time hold them for about 5 seconds and see what trouble codes appeared in the air conditioning temp window.do you have a factory service manual ? if not get one it should help you figure out what is wrong .
