i recently bought a used C4 with a crack in the targa top. I was viewing some earlier posts about this issue using a product called weld-on but checking the web site found no product called weld on 30 or 3 or 4. Anyone have any experience or info regarding a solution to this problem aside from the obvious. Thanks

the problem with fixing these tops is what caused them to break in the first place - TENSION!

They are pressed on under an element of tension... so when they crack, it's much like an earthquake.

In short, replace or rebuild.

Agreed; once a crack starts it will likely only get bigger due to the pretty severe amount of stress placed on the C4 targa tops.

Welcome to the site!

I read this thread on another forum about a guy who used something called "Hexcel Structural Adhesive" to bond the crack. Then he sanded it, epoxy primed it, and painted it. If you repair a crack on a targa top you will have to paint it for cosmetic reasons.

I used Weld On the I got from theengineerguy.com. I also cut a sliver of plexiglass that I used to fill in the gap within the crack. I drilled a hole at the end of the crack to stop it from continuing. Regardless of what you do it will not be pretty so painting the top may be the way to go.
