According to the Black Book it was for added rigidity, weight reduction and to bettere isolate the cockpit from the heat generated by the cats.

I'm from Cincinnati but I've been going down to Lake Cumberland (Somerset area) for 20 years. LOTS of local hot rodders down there with some very fast cars and the best lake in the country.

I think you would enjoy it. As you said there are some great cars around here, and we are having a lot coming from out of town. Last one i went to had over 1500 cars. They have also shied away from the ricers for this year, or so i hear. Gimme a holler if you head this way. I live straight across from Burnside dock.

I might have to venture down there this year too. I think Somerset is about 2 hours away.

kentucky_vetter, I'll make sure and get there this summer and look you up. I used to keep my boat at Burnside, I know right where your at.

Last year is the first summer I didn't go down to the lake in over 20 years. Everyone said the lake was low and then I heard it was not that bad, but that was from the Conley Bottom dock trying to get me to rent a houseboat

brut, you've never been to Lake Cumberland? You don't know what your missing.

76 falls was shut down last year due to all the bare breasted ladies. Other places on the lake are making a comeback though. Alot of people missed coming down last year due to bad advertising about the low lake level. Even at 40k acres there is still plenty of water to have fun on. If you or Brut come down for the show gimme a holler and ill put you in with our corvette club !

Shame about 76 Falls, no more bewbs :sad10: . I spent a fair amount of time there when I docked at Jamestown.

What is the lake going to be like next summer? It would be cool to make a trip of Somernites and a houseboat weekend.

Suppose to be 10 foot higher than this past summer, elevation will be 690. About the only good thing to come out of this is all the new ramps we gained. Just let me know when and ill stock up on the beer and tequila !
