Marck's (Twin_Turbo) current rear supension is upper and lower A-arm setup with coilovers. That post is almost 3 years old! This guy knows his stuff, not just C3 mods.

Like many, he has moved on from the "other" forum and you can find him at VetteMOD.com

I happen to have a 1990 steering wheel and a 93 or 94 wheel (later square style airbag with two spokes instead of four) and both ahve the same splines as you describe, flat at 12 and 6 o'clock and splines on each side.

"I don't know how much room you need but doing what I said above gave me alot of room I didn't have. My TB is an '89, not sure of the differences year to year. By removing the little torx bolts you can take the housing off and see exactly what can be removed. Easy to see once you look at the inside of the housing under there."

I am putting this on a BB C3 and the ptoblem I have is that the thermostat housing is pretty much dead center on the BB manifold (the C4 is to the side). So that means my IAC port interferes with the thermostat housing. I don't really have any clearance issues with the reast of the IAC plate. That seems to be the way this project is going, everything in the same place at the same time

The TB I have uses filtered air from in front on the throttle plates for the IAC. The IAC opens/closes a path from there to behind the throttle plates (into the plenum).

I kind of confused things asking about the other ports in the plenum at the same time. I'm pretty sure I won't need them. I have no EGR and PCV can be directly ported to the plenum.

I have both a bike and a C3. The bike I have had for 12 years and have done a lot of work to it. However, people don't drive cars very well these days. It scares the shit out od me to be on the same streets with these idiots. Therefore the bike is seldom used theys days.

It's a shame really.

The plate idea appeals to me with the IAC mounted somewhere else. I would still like to know what the two small ports in the plenum are used for. I assume one is for EGR.

Thanks for the replies. I am aware of the function of the IAC valve. However it is an air "bleed". Very low air flow, only with the throttle plates closed. Carbs have had the same idle air bleed circuit for years and some (air bleed actuators) are even remotely mounted similar to what I am talking about. Also, some people relocate Ford IAC's but I am not sure of the difference.

Any ideas about where the IAC gets its air? Are the two holes in the plenum for EGR?

I am using a throttle body from a 91 on my car. For hood clearance reasons, I have limited space above the intake for the plenum. I am also putting this on a BB C3. This poses clearance problems with the thermostat housing.

I don't have the C4 plenum or intake but I know that there is a triangular port on the plenum that is ported (through the plenum) to a small tube that goes to (don't know). Also, I know there are two small holes in the plenum right behind the throttle body ports that are open to the (lemme guess, the EGR)?

OK, getting to my question. Can the IAC be relocated?

I used 12point flange head screws on mine. I got them from Mcmaster-Carr. Solved my socket clearance problem and you still have the flange on the screw.

I am making a low profile penum for the 502 so I will be able to clear the BB hood. The black line in the side view is the underside of the hood.

GENE, go to see you. This might be a good place to get some LT1 help. Lot's of C4 guys around

I am using a stock BB hood and am running a Ramjet style plenum on a 502. The clearance I have between the top of the radiator flange and the underside of the hood is only about an inch. By the time I had an air tube in there, It would be maybe a 3/4 inch slit to breathe through. That's why I want to drop the support. I have a 68 so the support is easy to mod, it looks like something that was made in a high school shop class.

Autoblog has this to say about this Corvette concept from the Netherlands:

"Sahin has a come up with a new concept, this time based on a Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Unlike the Dino, Sahin is hoping to actually build this car with a production run of 100, Dubbed the Z03, this concept features full carbon fiber bodywork and design cues from the C3 Corvette and a Ferrari 599 GTB"

I understand what you mean but I think the radiator support could be lowered 1 inch by cutting the flanges off and rewelding. That way the holes stay in the same place, only the crossmember moves down.

For clarification, I am referring to #8 as the crossmember and #12 the frame extension that it attaches to.

I want to lower the front crossmember (the one directly under and in front of the radiator) with 1" spacers. I need the lower the radiator support to increase the gap between the radiator and the hood so that I can draw intake air from in front of the radiator.

I might have issues with front sway bar clearance. Can you think of any other problems?

SEE WHY THIS IS SO CONFUSING!

Your right, it is a pump from a late model Chevy truck with the push on plastic lines and an o-ring.

[color=red]"The only way to use that would be to either flare the ends or use some tough hard line adapters with a steel ferrule"[/color:d901aecf2d]

Is there some way to convert these to a conventional fitting?

Shame about 76 Falls, no more bewbs :sad10: . I spent a fair amount of time there when I docked at Jamestown.

What is the lake going to be like next summer? It would be cool to make a trip of Somernites and a houseboat weekend.

Sorry to jump in a little late but I can vouch for xtremefi, I bought a 52mm throtlebody from him and the machine work is very nicely done and it was about (I think) $225 without a core.

I will use all new lines. I think I will have to run the lines on the driver side and connect to the Ramjet fuel rail at the back of the engine. It's going to be a mess of crap there but coming off the front on the other side doesnt package very well. Do you have any shots of how you plumbed the Ranjet fuel rail?

If the 5-AN is difficult, I can stick to 6-AN fuel and return. That might make things simpler.

Before I completely give up of the GM fuel pump module, do you know where I could find proper fittings for these kind of tube ends:

For some reason I am unable to comprehend the wide variety of fuel fittings and tubing connections available for fuel systems these days. I need either an education or for someone to just tell me what to get

I am converting a 68 w/502 to modern port injection. To that end I have the old 68 style tank with no return line provision, a BB Ramjet fuel rail, and a Mallory regulator with 3/8 NPT ports for the fuel rail and AN-8 for the fuel line and return line. Also a Kinsler pre-filter with 8-AN fittings. I also have a modern GM fuel pump module that has the push on plastic o-ring fittings and the fuel rail has yet another kind a threaded o-ring fitting.

To keep things simple, my plan is to forget the GM fuel pump module and go with an externally mounted pump and cut the fittings off the fuel rail and somehow convert them to 3/8 NPT as is on the Mallory regulator.

So here is my plan:

8-AN bulkhead fitting on tank

Short line to pre-filter with 8-AN fittings on each end

Short line out of pre-filter to in-line pump (with ? fitting)

Flex line out of pump (with ? fitting) to replaceable filter (with ? fitting)

Hard line out of filter (with ? fitting) to engine bay bulkhead fitting

Flex line to fuel regulator with 8-AN fitting

RETURN LINE
Flex line out of regulator with 8-AN fitting to bulkhead fitting

Hard line to rear of car.

Flex line to tank.

*also hard lines are 3/8 fuel line and 5/16 return AND I could use some advice on a good pump for this setup

All help here is appreciated. I admit, I'm baffled.

Now if it were a carburetor..............I would probably still be confused

kentucky_vetter, I'll make sure and get there this summer and look you up. I used to keep my boat at Burnside, I know right where your at.

Last year is the first summer I didn't go down to the lake in over 20 years. Everyone said the lake was low and then I heard it was not that bad, but that was from the Conley Bottom dock trying to get me to rent a houseboat

brut, you've never been to Lake Cumberland? You don't know what your missing.

I'm from Cincinnati but I've been going down to Lake Cumberland (Somerset area) for 20 years. LOTS of local hot rodders down there with some very fast cars and the best lake in the country.

hmmmmm.....ok.

the more I think about it, why did you have to come in here and say that?
if you didn't mean to "piss" any of us C3 owners off, then what purpose did this serve? While this site was started for die-hard C4 owners, it is also littered by other generation owners and will be even more so soon.

I would hope that we could all have respect for other generations of vettes regardless of how they came from the factory. A lot of people put tons of blood, sweat, and tears into their "babies" and do take offense when someone slams them. While I am not pissed that you said it, I am baffled as to why you did.

I'm not offended! It makes me feel at home, I'm used to it and also sometimes critical of C3's myself. That just makes the improvements I make even more satisfying, I really think that is the appeal of these cars. :thumbleft:
