After successfully replacing the fuel injector assembly on my truck (see other post) I now have a problem that could be related. My fuel pressure drops to zero after I shut down the motor. With the truck running I have approx 54 psi fuel pressure but once I shut it off it drops to zero. I just replaced the fuel pump last year (dropped the tank etc) so I'm hesitant to put the blame on a bad check valve in the fuel pump. Also after I shut it off and get out of the truck I can hear the fuel pump run for about 2-3 seconds.

So assuming its NOT the fuel pump that leaves an open injector? Thoughts?

It's an instant drop once the key is turned off.

check valve... but... if the valve is bad, that's no real big deal. it means you prime the system twice, instead of once.

It's a convenience to keep fuel in the lines...

I would confirm, remove the spider and see if anything is leaking out. It will be pretty obvious if it is.

You can also check plugs... the real clean one would be a give-away.

I think removing the spider would be the best solution.

You will want some help and a couple of pieces of cardboard to capture the spray pattern when you turn on the key.

If there is a problem, it might also show in the oil - if the oil is thin an gassy smelling... I would check that too.
