The switch for my blower motor only works on the upper settings. Is it more likely the switch, or one of those blower resistors. If it's more likely the resistor, where is it in my '86? Once again, this is with the manual controls. Thanks for any help you can offer.........

Most of the time it will be the resistor. It is located on top of the HVAC box, just to the left where the heater hose is connected at firewall.

This finally worked out to be the plug for the fan relay. The resistor is nothing but 3 coiled wires, and it looks so simple that I think you'd have to intentionally cut a coil to make it go bad. So, problem fixed. On to the next worn out item.
