After many years of you must be joking availability, there are now correctly painted rear bumper emblems available for early C4 Corvettes, even in "unusual" colors like light blue metallic. My question: what are my odds of getting the old emblem off and the new emblem on without damaging the already sketchy original paint on the rear bumper itself? |

If you are really worried, heat gun and fishing line/dental floss. I was able to remove mine pretty easily with just a plastic pry tool. You can tape the surrounding area off with painter's tape if you are concerned about rub marks.

Should be held in place with double sided tape and two (*from memory) plastic pins that just fit in holes in the bumper.

Should come right off with little effort. I don't even think there are pins for the real early ones... I don't remember pins on bastet44's 87... but that's been a while now. 3M makes a great foam tape for emblems. |
