floor jack. Raise the car up, prop it with jackstands then use a floorjack to releave the spring tension.
Repeat on other side. |

Yup. No need for a fancy tool. Just be sure to disconnect the lower ball joints and shocks. If you let the spring droop all the way with the knuckle attached and the shock removed, it can damage your ball joints.
If you have a base model you'll have to get the front end way up in the air on some 6-ton stands to get the spring out, it has more arch than the Z51 spring. You might have to remove one of the lower control arms also to get the spring out. |
