Good Morning Gurus!

It's the downward slide to the weekend!

I think I'll leave work early today, coz I can.

Anybody else eagerly awaiting the release of Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard)?

Looks like it will be pretty cool. I probably won't be able to order my new Mac until it is already included, but I still need to purchase it for two other Macs in the house.

That's about all I've got at the moment.

How's your day looking?

No offense taken.

I can't say that I am warm and fuzzy about PCs, so we're even!

These are NOT the PC versions of these games, they are the genuine arcade versions and you wouldnt believe the difference if you werent here to see it!!!!

Mac is the leader in one main area - graphics. They kick the PC platform into next week.

My brother owns a print shop in FL, and he has an older G5. That sucker FLIES.

Ok, time to eat breakfast and read the comix.

See you all later on!!!

For what I do: Video editing, animation and graphic design, Mac is the way to go. Plus I simply like the attention to detail and the quality of the construction. EVERY PC I have ever seen, used or touched has felt like a piece of garbage. Flimsy and cheesy. But I suppose you can make them as nice as you want. I just haven't been in contact with any really nice machines, I guess.

It's kinda like the difference in quality betwen a Chevy and a Mercedes. Where Mac is more like the Mercedes. You know how when you close the door on a Mercedes, there is that nice solid 'thunk'? And on the Chevy it's more like a 'crack'?

It's like that for me with my Mac vs PC experience.

Macs have it over the PC for the type of work you do CSS996, I'll give you you that one. But I'm a PC guy too. My daughter and her hubby are both IT people and they deal with PCs Windows/Unix/Linux but when they go home they have their Mac. It's just hard for me to warm up to it.

Well, Windows Vista is making it a LOT easier. The GUI is almost a total clone of Mac OS X.

And I noticed with the new Leopard operating system that will be released on 10.26, they have included a program called "Boot Camp" which wil allow you to install Windows Vista on your Mac. You can choose which system you want to run. I haven't ever used it, but they SAY is is 100% functional and runs Vista better than a PC.

Of course I am highly biased toward Macs. So you can take that with a grain of salt.

Check it:

Yeah, but does he have the superior power of four Raptor 10,000rpm HDDs running in RAID0? You think that sucker flies mate, wait till you see a PC with these HDDs or more...

You aint ever touched a rig i built then, every computer i ever built was every bit the equal of Macintosh quality, and bullet proof reliable to boot.

Here is a couple pics:

And yes, i built both of those myself. (2nd one was using the owner's choice in cases, which is not the way id have gone...)

Those look nice, Case. Yeah, I've never come across anything like that. Just the crappy stuff they buy for us at the office. And my friend's computers. Off the shelf kinda stuff.

Every PC I've used has frozen, crashed or both. I just don't have those issues with Macs. But if I used a PC that was built right, and ran the way it should, that would be pretty cool.

None of the computers ive built have ever dissapointed the owners, they had 2 choices in the build, my way or go elsewhere. The top one i built for a mate about 2 years ago, he has had it running overclocked since the day he put it on the bench and its still going strong, never locked up or crashed, and with the 3x 10,000rpm Raptors he gave me to put in it, it was extremely bloody fast. At the time i built that, a DeLL with the same power did not exsist, and the Alienware that was only a close comparison (cause it lacked 10,000rpm drives) was well over 3 times the price and still not nearly as fast, nor could it be upgraded as far (not like as if this rig ever needed it!!)
