Well, I posted this last night, but it disappeared... So being the persistent dude that I am, I'll try again.

It's been a couple years since I've had what I consider to be a "cool" car. And being a car guy, I felt a void in my life. The Grand Turismo series of video games for the Play Station 2 has helped me a little. I cannot tell you how many hours I've spent playing those darn games.

And being a freak about wheels and tires, I just about laid an egg when they started allowing wheel changes in GT3. Wooooo Hoooo!

Since then, I secretly was hoping to own a car that I could "re-create" in the Grand Turismo world. Over the past couple years that I thought I was getting close to Corvette ownership, I saved up my virtual cash, and started buying up every color C4 that was available in the game. The game featured the 1990 ZR1 (in what I guess is every color the car was actually available in) and the 1996 Grand Sport.

Anyway, I think I got pretty close...

The real deal (I need to take some new photos)

Resized Image

My virtual ride... It's a ZR1, so it is not exactly right, but pretty darn close. And since there is a C5 z06 in the game, the wheels are available! woot!

Yeah, I'm a geek. What of it?

Great pics mate ;)

I used to play lots of GT2 on the old playstation, it had the 1995 ZR1, and the 96 LT4, as well as Grand Sport. (im after a copy of the original ESPN Extreme games for the PS1 if anyone has it)

Recently though ive been playing Daytona USA til i simply cant take anymore, then i go for a Winfield break and come back for more Daytona. (although tonight i played Sega Rally Championship instead)

Ive got an emulator on this computer that runs a fair few Sega Model 2 arcade games, Daytona, Sega Rally, Virtua Cop, Sega Touring Car, House of the Dead and a few others.

Its hard to believe just how poor the Sega Saturn version of Daytona (i bought it the day it came out in Australia!!) was compared to the Model 2 arcade machine, where as Sega Rally was identical in every single way except the graphics being slightly more grainy due to lower resolution and a few less polygons on the Saturn.

A friend of mine owns a used video game store. Do you think a USA (NTSC) copy of the game would work on your machine, or do you need a PAL or SEACAM version?

NTSC will work perfectly fine mate yes, my PlayStation runs all kinds. If you could get a hold of it for a reasonable price and make sure it works good ill take it!! Thanks mate ;)

I bought a Playstation 3 last week, pretty much just for that game. But the fact that it is a Blu-Ray player doesn't hurt. I can say the graphics are incredibly incredible!

I purchased only one movie so far. Cars (Pixar) I own it on DVD as well. I saw and actually heard things I never noticed before. The picture is outstanding. If you have an HDMI input on your TV, you can run a standard HDMI cable from the PS3 to your HDTV and it looks bloody fantastic!

I love my PS3, I have quite a collection of Blu Ray's now.
The SPiderman Trilogy looks awesome and I also have Cars.
When I got mine, they included an offer for 5 free Blu Ray's, I got Blazing Saddles,Underworld Evolution, Transporter 2, The Devils Rejects and Pearl Harbor. The pickin's were slim, but for free, I'll take them.

As for games, my bro just got me motorstorm and the fiancee got me NASCAR 08 and a few others. I bought for myself Stuntman Ignition.
I love them all so far.
I'll be waiting impatiently for GT5

Make the most of that 50 inch while you still think its big mate, cause one you go bigger, you not only wont want to go back, but itll take you less time til you want more!!

Im now up to abit over 117 inch, and in a way im lucky, i aint got the room to go any bigger yet!!
