TGIF everyone!! On a down note I do have staff duty again on Sunday. I am helping out one of my co-workers since he helped me, otherwise I would not have duty. Strangest thing happend yesterday, my tranny shifted into reverse! I pulled in some where and remembered I wanted to park differently so I could get out easier and WHAMO, went right into reverse and I have not had a problem since!

Fingers crossed, Johnny. Hopefully that tranny just needed a little forward movin' love first, and now it's good-to-go!

Sorry to hear about the staff duty again. Hopefully it goes better when you are helping a friend.

Whooo-hooo!!!!

We had our Annual Awards ceremony today. It's where the president of the company gives the state of affairs and then various folks give out various awards.

There are awards for most organized, best attitude, communications, things like that. You get a plaque and a check, whos value varies with the award. Some of the biggies are worth thousands.

I have been with the company for a year and 2 months. I honestly hoped that if I was nominated for something, that would be great... I was nominated... for Innovation. However, I won for "Task Master!!!" That and a $250.00 check! Whoo-hoo!!!! It was won by myself and two others in the Purchasing dept for a project we did this past year.

I was SHOCKED. Seriously surprised!!! I have never won an award from work... so that was really cool.

That is very cool! I work for a sales-oriented company, and they used to give all kinds of awards and stuff to the sales force. I am on the operations side, and we are largely ignored in this regard, but most of us kinda like it that way. But a pat on the back (especially with cash) is way cool!

Congrats, not only on the award, but the effort that brought it to you!

1 year and 2 months already. Time sure does fly. Congrads on the bonus. Extra cash is always welcome at this time of year.

Yea, I am still abuzz internally.

I have been a working stiff for the last 20 years... and I have only been thanked a couple of times... This is the first time I have ever received an award for my work. It's such a refreshing, and strangely motivating, experience.
