The people from Europe were the hotest on dirt and on tracks. When I was racing at Indian Dunes in the 70's I watched the best American dirt bike racer Brad Lackey. He was another pioneer racer of the period.

My last real race was at Sprockets park in Bakersfield. I was crossing it up on a jump at the finish. When I landed in the fence I broke my leg on the pipe holding up the fence. Lol the good old days.
Wish I still had some pictures left. Left them all while on my way back for christmas from College in Long beach. Those dirt tires on the 250 street Elsinore on the grapevine in the snow was a hell of a crash I walked away from. Had most of my stuff in my duffle bag. Lost it by Fort Tejon. Aw the good old days Steve |

Yes they were. But, like my C2, I kept one of my racers, currently under restoration. Attach file: 881_4a2fbb438a5ff.jpg (0.00 KB) |

Yes they were. I miss my old Maico Stiletto. I loved leaving those elsinore at the starting line as they spun their tires in the dirt. Lot has changed not just for the best. A friend that I used to race with still has his dad's Electria Glide. Your right Tommy old guys rule. I saw Kenny race Freddy Spencer at Laguna Seca in 83 or 84. As a kid this was the most exciting racing I had ever seen. They changed leaders so much, and that cork screw down hill was awesome to see them lay down and switch back up at speed.
Awesome drivers, the both of them, |
