When the Front bumper MASK is off there is a checker board looking plastic piece that the fog lights fit in, i need to remove it. there was 8 12mm i belive but there is some little screws that look like allen wrenches.
I tried to get a fit but i am missing something
if anyone can give me the steps or some advice on this removal process i would appreciate it

Well, I don't know why you need to remove the bumper honeycomb, but you will more than likely need what is called a torx socket to do it.

Sears has a very nice set, with life time warrantee, for about $40.00. It will have all the torx you will ever need.

Inside the slots i have cleaned out good but from what i see you cant get the fog lights out unless it comes off. i want to clean them as good as possible

Do you have the factory service manual yet? This is an 87, right?

I found a Thread on CorvetteF. that you can get the fog lights out without the removal of Honeycomb. i am gonna try that first. but i will keep you posted.

I have never tried to remove those bits... they are so fiddly going back on.

A lurking guru, alcee1, has an 84. He redid his fogs with clear lenses. Took off the oem lenses and put on clear pieces. Too a while, he said, but the end result is impressive.

i would love to know how he got to the bolt that holds it on.
One side of the Light you can pull and its free, but the other side you can see the bolt that is mounted.
its a hard fit but i am working on it so i will keep everyone posted

PS. i bought this car about a year and a half ago and i knew two guys that are in Vettesofthesmokies.com Corvette club. they helped me get the top end off down to the malifoldbut all the timely patient stuff i am learning. just started this mechanic stuff.
