I figured maybe that would slow down this spyware stuff.

My anti-spyware keeps going into overdrive.

Once your "packet' leaves your Local Area Network (LAN) there are several layers of protocol headers that contain ADDRESS information assigned to your computer.. If you run a private network ie: a wireless router in your home the router will clone the computer's MAC address (the interface connection to your LAN) and provide you a private IP address within your home network and use the IP address your Internet Service Provider (aka ISP) like comcast, roadrunner, charter, etc as it's own IP. Sometimes you can run something called NAT/PAT which is a Network Address Translation to Port Address Translation but most ISPs don't like it so much. Conntact your ISP and see if they run any type of pre-filtering for SPAM and Virus detection before they send it down your LAN connection. Generally this will slow down your bandwidth on your LAN. Hope this helps a bit.

You noticed that too.

Really, I'm still on there. I just want to get my computer to run faster.
