I am looking at buying a set of four wheels from seller in Thousand Oaks, but he won't ship. Anyone nearby there willing to pick them up from him and ship them on to me at my expense?

Too far for me, Andy.
I would like to know what the shipping ends up costing you.

I thought about getting a set of Z06 wheels a while back but the shipping from Va. killed it (but that was from a company with the usual "shipping and handling" charges).

Yes, the shipping will cost more than the wheels. Now if he was a lot closer I would already own them.

I shipped tires via USPS... it was about $20 a tire.

Thousand Oaks isn't that far, really. Lets see...

I am going to guess rims are 17".

That's 23 lbs per rim.

yuck... UPS wants $42 a rim...

$156 for FedEx ground...

USPS Parcel Post is $30 per rim. No insurance.

These are estimates... just so you know what you may be getting into.

Andy - Did I scare you off?

What I don't get is how Tire Rack can send sooo cheap... they must have a sweetheart deal based on volume. In fact, the HAVE to have one... there is no other way they could afford to ship wheels.

Nope. I have bought a sold about 4 sets of rims and had one set of 4 shipped all the way to Portland, OR. So I had already looked up the shipping, just decided it wasn't a deal that I wanted to pursue.
