Well finally found my trans for the 85.

LT1 T56 supposedly shifts smooth.

I will be swapping my 700r4-> T56

My block is 1pc RMS already.

My questions:

Clutch?
Throwout bearing?
Master cylinder?
Shifter?
Speedo sensor?

I know there is a bracket that bolts/slides on to mount the C beam.

What else I am missing?
Driveshaft shop will shorten my stock driveshaft as needed.

Oh, gee... I used to know most of this...

I am sure if you did some web searching you will find all the answers... hell, there are more then likely some threads on CF that have the answers, back when they actually ANSWERED tech threads with real tech answers.

I am digging here, but I think you need to use the Corvette bell housing; which means clutch and hydraulics... IIRC, there is a space issue regarding the clutch and such.

There are brackets, yes, for the C-beam.

Speedo sensor should be ok, actually. I think both used the same AC generator.

I wish I could remember more. The T56 fell out of favor once the latest TKO boxes came on line.

You started this thread summer 2010:

http://www.corvetteguruforum.com/modu ... ad&topic_id=12458&forum=1

http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154261

Now, lets do this gang, keep this thread ON POINT! I would love for us to become the final say on this subject.

I will even take all info and turn it into a tech tip.

-=Jeff=- would be a good person to talk to, he swapped a manual into his '89 C4 (now sold) along with a complete dash from a '91.. Of course he used a ZF6 in his.. but he is very knowlegeable and will likely have some good info..

Thanks bogus. I remember starting the thread but without a control panel I find it hard to find my old threads.

I have a few threads saved from CF and just saved these.
