Its an 02 LS..
After I got gas this morning ABS light on dash comes on....I get out and with key on or off I hear the ABS pump running continuously under the bed. I eventually pulled the fuse for it so it stopped. Anyone know of a fix or possible source of problem. Stuck relay maybe? ? Have no scanner, no $$ to take it in anywhere.. Has to be a fix I can do on this thing. |

Also found this in an epinions post that showed LOTS of people having the same problem...
http://www.absfixer.com/ The post said they fixed it for $150. Good luck, whatever you do. Hopefully you can fix it yourself somehow.... $1,000 |

CS996, thanks a mil. That link makes sense, about a month ago my traction control light came on for no reason and stayed on for a couple hours, then upon startup, poof! Gone.
Apparently that must be a warning sign the ABS module is gonna taka crap soon. Im wondering if these corrode in part to being mounted under the bed where they are exposed to the elements. In Vettes they are inside where they dont get beat up quiet as bad. I see it as design for failure. One of my fears of owning a late model anything is stuff like this. When I had 31k on the truck there was some other module under the dash that went out, $900 item. Thank God I had a warranty back then. This one ran out 2 mos ago. Guess Ill drive it as is for awhile. Just for the heck of it Im going to pull the cover off it and see if the connector itself isnt corroded. Has to be something like that or a solenoid inside thats sticking. If the module cant build up pressure its going to keep running. |
