Nice bike Pete!

Oh, and CC you probably already know you don't buy a Harley for the ride and comfort. It's all about the image man.

I have to agree with CC on this one. This is very similar to the damn OptiSpark on the C4. I know some people hate them, and some are even afraid to drive in the rain with one. But you know there are thousands of them on the road that's never had an issue.

Yes, I wash my engine

It's the internet lore that keeps the myths going.

Oh, and a C5 was just in one of the Vette magazines as being the overall winner on Pinks. I haven't read the whole article yet, but it did mention that it was not a solid axle conversion.

Yeah, didn't have it quite 4 months. I really liked it, but it just wasn't the right bike for riding two-up.
And I didn't want a full out bagger, so the Dyna Fat Bob will be just right.

I wouldn't mind having a sport bike, but then I'd probably kill myself. See how much smarter I am getting as I get older.

Really, the only thing that really needs to be done is new weatherstrip. What's there isn't bad though, at least it's not leaking anywhere.

You have to do what you think is right for you and your family, that's for sure.

But if everyone stopped buying anything more than the bare necessities, based on what they hear on the news or see around them, the economy would be in far worse shape than it might already be.

Of course you can't be stupid with your money either. But if you have a good job, and your company is not struggling, I wouldn't be afraid to spend a little either.

I think I am doing my part to stimulate the economy.

Well, lots of Corvettes in Rolla, Mo tonight. Drove out and found j3studio just getting out of his C4. Stopped and introduced myself and we chatted for awhile.

One of the local Corvette guys put on a big bar-b-que for the NCRS group, which I am sure they all enjoyed.

The weather is pretty nice tonight, even though it was a little warm today.

We were on the Harley when we pulled into the hotel parking lot, so I didn't get to show off my LT4 to John.

We'll go out in the morning a few miles north of town, and find a nice spot to take a few pics as the go by on their way to St. Charles.

It was great chatting with you John, and you have a beautiful example of a fine C4.

Here's to a safe trip the rest of the way.

They were probably made for a motorcycle battery. That pigtail looks exactly like the one on my Harley. I am sure you can get some type of adapter to use with larger auto batteries. Maybe check with a stereo installer shop?

Yes, that pigtail is meant to be connected to the battery and left there. Makes connecting and disconnecting the battery tender super easy.

Thanks for the update!

I am glad it's you in Branson and not me. I try to avoid all that crap as much as possible. Although my mom still lives down in that area, so we do go down a few times a month.

Branson traffic can be a killer on your cooling system.

I will be sure and swing by the Baymont Sunday morning to see you guys off. Would be nice to meet you.

You guys will all be in Rolla, MO on Saturday, right?

Sounds like your having a good time, and the weather in Missouri looks like it will be perfect for you.

I think I read that the group will be leaving Rolla on Sunday morning and heading north on US63? Where will you be meeting?

Would be cool to come out and take a look at some nice cars.

But typing on my Dell right now.

Good Morning,

Beautiful day in Missouri too.
So, I rode the Harley to work.

Yesterday was wife's birthday, so I did take her out to dinner. When you live in small town America, you have to drive a little ways to do anything special. So, took the targa off the Vette and went for a nice dinner cruise.

Hey everyone!

I made it back from the Power Tour in one piece. Wow, lots of flooding in Iowa and Wisconsin. Mile after mile of corn fields under water. Quite a few detours between the last two stops, but we made it through.

I hate going on vacation, because it seems nobody wants to do my work for me while I am gone. So, I am way behind now.

I managed to get quite a few pictures, but I haven't had time to do anything with them yet. I should get to them soon. Next week I am off to a week long training class, so it might be a week or two.

Oh, and the high fuel prices didn't seem to have any effect on the true "hot rodders", as this year had the biggest turn out ever. Not sure of the official numbers, but there looked to be 2,500 cars or more at the Saturday "long hauler" awards.

This link isn't mine, but somebody put up quite a few pics here: http://powertourpics.com/main.php?g2_itemId=2696

Hello everyone.

Last day to work for me, until I return from the Power Tour. Whoooo hooooooooo

Gonna take the next two days to go over everything (oil change, clean up, etc.) Then I need to clean my truck up good because wife wants to enter a local show with it while I am gone. She gets a kick out of doing that, even though I work by butt off getting it clean for her.

Will be leaving here Friday morning, headed to Little Rock. I'll be sure and get plenty of Power Tour pictures for you guys.

One week to go before Hot Rod Power Tour starts.

This time next Friday, I'll be on my way to Little Rock. Anybody else here planning on doing any of this tour?

CSS, your braver than I am. I am keeping my MacBook Pro at 10.4 for a little while longer. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yes, use Isopropyl Alcohol!

I went through the same thing your going through. Seemed nothing would dissolve that sticky mess. Last resort, I tried the alcohol. It worked great.
And it's cheap too. A bottle of alcohol and a cheap roll of paper towels will clean that window up like new.

I have to agree with you there. That is why I posted early in this thread about there being a point where the cost of insurance exceeded what it was worth (excluding the mandatory liability coverage).

Really, collision insurance is intended more for cars that have a sizable loan on them. If your comfortable in being able to replace your car if/when it gets wrecked, then you probably don't need it.

Insurance is a gamble between you and the Ins. company.

They are betting you won't wreck your car. You are betting that you do.

I have a '96, but haven't had any issues with it. I have heard of the '96 being the most prone to a vacuum controller issue though.

Here is a link on the other forum that might shed some light on this (if this is in fact the problem your having).

Here in Georgia comp claims do not affect your rates. For lack of better words they are generally considered "act of God" or in other words something that is not your fault. Everything is totally different (and weird to me) in CA, like a foreign country with all the odd laws you have out there. Oh well, to each his own.

Comp claims may not affect your rates as you say, they are for stuff that you have no control over.

BUT, file too many of those claims and I can assure you when it comes time to renew your policy, you will get a nice letter from your insurance company stating that they will no longer offer you coverage. It happens all the time.

Once you become a "risk" to them, they will drop you.

And speaking of steering wheel on the wrong side. I have to ask a question. I've driven cars in England, but they were all automatic. I am not sure I could have mastered shifting with my left hand. Do you get used to it pretty fast?

89K on my LT4.
Bought it in 2005 with 50K.
I like to drive it, what can I say.

Good afternoon

Another rainy day in Missouri. I swear, ever since I bought the new Harley it's done nothing but rain.
And when it's been halfway nice out, I've been out riding.

It's about time I started going over the Vette though, getting ready for another Power Tour. 7 days on the road with other car guys, and wife stays home. She says that is her vacation too, and no cooking. Works for me, as I don't have to listen to "Can we go now, I've seen all the cars".

Good morning. I haven't been online too much lately, been a little busy.

It's going to be a sad day here I think, as we are going to have to put our black lab down. She is very old, and been a part of our family. Strange how the puppies your kids beg for become your dogs once they leave home and you get so attached to them.

Oh, still looking for my stimulus check also. If they would give me a bigger one, I could help out the economy even more, cause I think I spent mine already

Anyways, for those that might be wondering. Calif is already in crisis mode with the lack (absence) of Spring rains. Fire season is upon us already which is one full month early.

So that's why the Midwest is getting soaked every few days.
The clouds are holding it in until it gets here.

Here in southern Missouri, we are already 12 inches over on rainfall for the year.

I bought a new Harley on Saturday, and now it's turned off cold and more rain. Ok, back to work.

First Harley I've owned, not the first bike though.

That was a very cool story.

And I'll match CentralCoaster's donation to paint that pink car

I have to agree the other two also.
You get what you pay for, and $8,500 for an LT4 is really cheap. There had to be issues with that car, even if you say it looked "mint".

An LT4 will pull to redline very strong. Noting like what you described.
