Installing a b & m pro ratchet shifter, but the wires have me confused.I got two black wires that go to back of stock shifter then there's a six wire harness with blk/white,orange/blk,blue,green,green/white and purple/blk that go into relay on shifter.
I hope someone has a write up on this or you guys can help wiring the micros up for starter relay and reverse lights, etc.
Thanks,Eric

Easy enough to check , just jumper the terminals in the plug and see whch wires makes the starter and backup lights work

generally on the shifter switch
Dk blue / Lt green; backup lights
Purple /Yellow; starter (thicker wires )

Org and corresponding black wire you have no switch for (are computer inputs for P/N indication)

Just cut the plug off and install spade terminals to connect to the two micro switches

Thanks,I got the shifter mounted last night.I'm gonna fool around with it more later today.I know two of the six wires go to the hatch relay,so going off what vettoz says I should be able figure it out.
I'm also trying to run a line lock to a actuator button on the magnum grip so its gonna be little time consuming but I like the way I got it mounted. Not much room to work with.
Do have to get a custom boot made when its all done

I briefly looked in the FSM for my 89 and came up with this:

Black/White: Ground
Orange/Black: Hatch release (then turns in to tan/white)
Blue: Backup lamps
Green: ? (if light green, that's also the backup lamps)
Green/White: neutral/park position selector for starter enable
Purple/Black: ? (might be related to starter / in order to ground or power the starter enable)

Again, this is from my 89, so some wires might be different. Also, you should verify with you FSM since I am not 100% sure on these. Anyone with better knowledge please feel free to correct me.
