The main thing I am doing is replacing my intake with an LT1 intake that has been modified for the L98 (will now accept my distributor). It is being shipped tomorrow.
I also ordered an air pump delete kit just to clean up the engine bay.
Has anyone done the L98/LT1 intake swap?
I will need to relocate the thermostat (do not have a clue on how to do that). Where is the fuel pressure regulator on an LT1? (dumb question I know).
How much shorter will my drive belt have to be for the pump delete?
The guy who sold me the LT1 plenum said he would help with how to hook up the L98 hoses and sensors. Why do I not have much faith in this?
I will be selling my ported intake manifold (used to be on Matt's car) along with the aftermarket runners and plenum, adjustable fuel pressure regulator and new EGR. The runners and plenum have been ported (but not a pretty job by the way). The fuel rail has been taken apart, cleaned up and new O rings installed.
If anyone is interested in my intake system before I list it then let me know. The manifold has the 9th injector hole but it has been JB Welded closed with a nickel glued to it. Could be drilled out if you need that feature.
Edit: The front and rear of the manifold has been dimpled where it mates to the china wall on the engine too.

1. No, but intakes are intakes.

2. There are kits for that, real easy.

3. on the rail, depending on year, but it's towards the back of the intake.

4. Same belt size.

5. meh, sensors are easy. The only hard one will be the temp sensor that was on the manifold... put that on the t-state relo kit.

6. You will need to program the EGR out of yours.

You should be ok... I would also budget for headers and a dual exhaust... you will thank me later.

I already have a catless front Y, a high flow cat and a rear Y with crossover and Magnaflow mufflers. I am considering getting a set of these:
http://www.vetteheaders.com/servlet/t ... -corvette-tires%2C/Detail
This should bolt right up to my existing setup without any problems.
Or I could go with a complete exhaust from an LT1 from Vette2Vette (from manifold to exhaust tips). Would this bolt right up to my 113 stock heads?
I can also obtain a complete LT4 system from Brandt that are off my LT4 that I sold back to him.

Ron,

The thermostat is relocated to a metal thermostat housing you mount remotely and then heater hoses run to/from it.

AFAIK, the fpr is mounted on the back of the rail, but I think some guys run it in line where it is convenient.

For the belt size, it depends on the delete pulley kit. Some are stock, some shorter.

This is an f-body but has good pictures:

true duals win out here...

the choke is the center cat. If you can get the LT1 or LT4 systems, do so. The only issue would be the O2 sensors... but you only have one, and it guesses a lot.

The 02 sensors are no problem, just plug them. There is a guy on CF in Chicago who has a like new LT1 system for sale for like $100 right now. I'd buy that in a heartbeat if I didn't already have mine. Get the LT1 duals.

Thanks guys! Great pics from the Camaro swap and great dyno info! I drove to Corvette Central today to pick up some new brake hoses/speed bleeders and parts to fix my door locks. There is a casino about a dozen miles away and I won a couple of hundred bucks which is going into the mod fund! I will try to track down that Chicago guy with the LT1 exhaust system.
It seems that I have heard that the exhaust ports on the LT1 heads are different than my 113s. One is D shaped and the other is round? Not sure which is which and how the LT1 exhaust manifold would work on the 113 heads.
As soon as the intake manifold comes in I will take it to the local drag racer/mechanic and see if he can figure out how to connect the 91's fuel lines to the LT1 intake. Those Camaro pics will really help!
This guy has a 79 Camaro with some kind of monster big block with a blower and nitrous on it. Last time I stopped in there he fired the thin up and it liked to scared the crap out of me. It has braided lines and AN fittings all over the damn thing. I think he can figure this out for me.
I have never worked with the stuff and will feel much more confident in my pressurized fuel system if I have someone do the work that knows wtf they are doing!

The fuel lines should be no big deal, Ron. They make adapters to connect from the factory hard lines to AN braided.

The exhaust system I saw for sale is the lower portion from the cats back. Whatever headers you get would hook in there, but it's easier than having them custom bent. That's what I did on mine, an LT4 system mounted to my headers. You would also need the 3 LT system hangers that attach to the trans and diff.

I better finish this install and my paint job before tackling an exhaust project. Sounds like a good winter project.
Pics of the LT1 unit I got today (fast shipping!)
Dumb question: What is the black device just behind the throttle body opening and what does it equate to on my 91's
system?

That is a MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor.

Your stock 91 uses one as well.

On the LTX intake hooking it up to the radiator/coolant system. I see you asked about this earlier and no else answered.

You will need a Remote Thermostat Housing.

http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Weiand- ... Remote-Thermostat-Housing,1295.html

I also noticed your intake is set up to remove water from the rear of the cyl heads/intake instead of the front....

At any rate you hook up 2 heater hoses to those nipples and run them to the remote Thermostat Housing which is connected to your upper radiator hose....

Not sure why they remove water from the rear of the cyl heads/intake. I guess/hope it works OK, as I've seen a number of other converted LTX intakes online done like it.

Will, can't you just run a line across on those two intake coolant taps? I mean, the factory intake did the same thing, really.

No. Those 2 nipples are the only means to get coolant back to the radiator.... the LTX dosent have coolant thru the intake, so whoever converted this one drilled and tapped for these nipples where the rear coolant outlet/crossover on GEN I is.

Thanks Will. I found out about the remote thermostat and how to set it up from a link sent by Matt. I am going with one from Summit as the holes line up better for my purpose and the cost is less. I can also get free shipping.
The seller recommended the TPIS adjustable fuel pressure regulator too as it clears the distributor.
Now I just have to find someone to make up 2 fuel lines that will hook up to the L98 lines near the fuel filter.

Hm... I know that the LT1 intake is dry, but I was referring to the L98 intake. It normally passes across the middle.

I hear what you are saying, but the lines on the back of the head are more or less steam vents... they are small and connect back at the heater/surge tank area. The late LT1 runs the heater lines and the throttle body crap through it.

Excellent. I missed Matts link. Hard to see everything surfing on a tablet.

The fuel lines are easy to do.... I have -6AN on my 92 with an Aeromotive regulator.

I while ago on here we were discussing different intakes and I listed all the pn's needed for the 2 adapter fittings to connect AN line to the stock lines at the filter. Im sure its still archived here somewhere.
