im have problems with the passenger side headlight i just replaced the gear in side the gear an motor assembly the light flips up without any problem but wont reverse itself i checked to see if there is an obstruction and it doesnt seem to be in abind im very new to the flip headlight features an its a 1984 greenwood corvette

Have you tried the light with the hood raised up? I assume on a 84 the coolant recovery bottle is in the "pocket" just foward of the front tire? Sometimes the hose will block the assembly from closing.

Chuck has some good photos in that link, do the FSM diagnostics and see what that indicates. Your 84 has a slightly different setup, but it should get you on track.

Like Joel said, check for obstructions while the hood is open. Can you manually close the light with the knob?

Sure is different there Matatk...

Sorry OP; someone here has wiring schematic for early headlights ('84 - '88, I think are the earlier style) ; I can't say if anything is similar to '89 - '96 style

???

there is a nob to reposition the headlight and no there arent any obstruction i thought there might be a certain position the light might have to be in when i attached it to the car
Is there a sensor on the bracket it thats on the headlight frame because there is a second plugend

Yes, there is a knob, you can't miss it. It is on top of the motor itself.

The motors work off a worm gear / limit switch so it doesn't have to be installed at an exact spot.

Here is a schematic of the 84-87(?) headlight motors that you can use to diagnose things.

i worked at first but at the end of the day it stopped i find that im in need of a more precise manual then a heands manual you know where i can download are pick something like that up
