So how many of you have been by James Dean's last stop before his death. Hwy 33 and Hwy 46 intersection
This store was owned by relatives of mine in the days he stopped by. It was a in the middle of no ware pit stop. The food was crap and the water was hauled in so the crapper was an out house. Water cost a nickle a glass. Last stop for gas before you reached the coast. The picture is the new store owned by who knows know. Lots of Memorabile in the store. Friends from the Waski that played ice hockey with my son were hit head on by the cousin of my classroom aide. She died.The brothers and father were all in critical condition. They were airlifted to seveyal hospitals.
It took years but all Waski survived The state of california finally realized that blood alley needed work. Work continues to this day. Hell of a lot safer now |
