When GM quit racing, Bill Mitchell funded some private teams.
This film was found in 2013. All the key players are there. Harley Earl, Bill Mitchell, Zora, Shelby, Dick Thompson, Paul Goldsmith, The Corvettes were loaded back on the ship after the event and sent to Smokey Yunick in preparation for the Feb. 1957 Daytona Speed Weeks. One of the 3 production cars survives, runs and has ALL the original racing parts on it. The Bill Mitchell SR2 is alive and well in Florida, |

That's pretty much typical of Florida living, even today. Almost everybody has boats, cars, planes, etc. Today they play with a variety of cars. Porsches, Audis, Lambos, Ferraris, Jags and vintage race cars. I think the motto in Florida is a car in every garage plus two more in the driveway. Nice old vid Bill. |
