I picked up a new radiator cap for my 92 last night... and it was made in Israel... Kosher car parts... how novel.

oh, no... don't dis on Taiwan.

They have some of the best automated plants in the WORLD. Excellent metallurgy, top notch quality control. Very little that I have bought from Taiwan is a problem, if anything, it's been very good.

I get all my computer motherboards from MSI, a Taiwanese based firm. They assemble there using Japanese components. World class stuff there, seriously.

Taiwan builds to a quality measure, not a price point. Don't get me wrong, I am sure some of the plants do, but for the most part, I haven't seen much of it.

The clutch slave on my Vette is a NAPA part made in Taiwan. It's been great... 20k miles and only needed fluid once. Very happy with it.
