Vette91 | DIY Airpump Eliminator | ||

A couple of month ago I made an airpump eliminator for my '91 Vette. I did not want to post pics until I'm sure it will work with the engine running.
A few years ago I got this off eBay: I made a rough estimate where to get the pulley and fixed it ... Designed a shaft and turned it 0,02mm oversized. Put it into the deep-freeze for about two hours and put the pulley on. You can see the ice still on the shaft.I placed a lock-nut infront of it just to be sure it won't come off. Back at the car I got it aligned again and TIG-welded flat bar steel to support it. After the welding, I glass-blasted the whole thing. Of course, the pulley was protected. Pics are old, but basically the look did not change. Of course you have to get a new belt. I cut an old one to figure out the length needed ... |
