If you had your hopes up after hearing rumors that the production Chevrolet Camaro will make its debut at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show, you’ll be pretty disappointed after reading this. The folks at Chevy are saying that you won’t find the production Camaro at any auto shows until a year from now.

One reason is that the coupe and convertible concept have already made their major auto show within the past two years, and now it’s time for the smaller markets, like Cleveland and Philadelphia, to get their peek at local car shows. Also there aren’t any pre-production cars built to travel auto shows in the country as of yet.

Insiders at Chevy fear that the production Camaro will lose appeal by the time it hit roads. Basically, they think that if you show too much of a car before it actually hits the dealerships, you risk having it look old and outdated.

Rumor has it that launch dates for the production Camaro coupe are February 16th, 2009 while the Camaro convertible will hit the roads on December 7th, 2009.

I'll get a chance to get a look at it and the Vette. A couple of guys from work are going to the Phila Car Show on Feb 6.

Anyone else going from the area? The majority of you folks are from the left side of the country correct? ( no offense intended, just an observation)
