Will tech 1A test my RPM Needle Circuit???

My RPM needle had a good 'sweep' motion before I did resto on the I/C. Now it's 'jerky'. I think the DE Grease might have impeded (pun intended Resized Image the signal / circuit somewhere....................

I can't say offhand. The FSM should say? Does the needle self test when you turn on the car?

I'm with Matt on this one... What does the FSM say?

I know it can do a lot, tho... And there are some tests that can be done with the CCM directly.

Also, with the needle, make sure there isn't any mechanical interference...

DUH. Check GM FSM, to see if GM Scanner will do the test.

(that is, IF Techline Tech 1A is same as Vetronix Tech 1 A)

Considering that Vetronix is calling their machine the Tech 1 A... I would HOPE it does the same tests...

No, it will NOT test RPM function.

Special tool needed J-33431 Signal Generator.

But there IS good news; Techline is a diagnostic tool referred to on same page...
