Hi
I have a problem when starting my vette hot. I hesitates a bit and then starts with a hard spiking sound and a black puff of smoke. When starting cold it fires right up. It feels like it runs fine both hot and cold.

The engine is newly rebuilt with roller lifters, headers, metallic cats and a stroker kit.

No fault codes present.

I have replaced the water temp sensor, air temp sensor and lamda sonds with no change.

The car in question is a -92 Lt1

Any sugestions?

Welcome to a new C4 Guru from Sweden.

I'm sure you are disappointed that you haven't received replies to your
first post.

I googled "corvette hard start when hot", and 208000 suggested solutions
were displayed. That might be a first review, especially the first
50 possible suggested solutions.

Welcome to the forum.

Very likely a fuel related issue. Could be leaking injectors or a bad fuel pressure diaphragm.

Do you have the tools to do a fuel pressure test? If not, a quick test for the fuel pressure regulator is to disconnect the vacuum line and smell for gasoline.
