… the savior of the C5 Corvette program was 83. I met Jim a few times over the last fifteen years. He worked for Rick Hendrick after he retired from his general manager position at Chevrolet and often represented the Hendrick organization at NCRS events. I got to talk to him for a while when a bunch of us visited the Hendrick car collection in Charlotte—just a genuinely nice guy. We talked about various things Corvette, and then I told him that we had a 50th Anniversary convertible and I knew what he had done to make the C5 happen. He smiled. |

Sorry to hear it..... The C5 is a great car and paved the way for the mighty C6......ok and the C7....... and the C5 brought back what many had grieved about for 20 years.......Horsepower! RIP JP
