Last year I bought a pair of Ceramic coated Hooker Shortie headers from a guy on CF for cheap, I think I remember paying like $50 or $75 for them. I received them and cleaned them up knowing I would use them when I did my engine work. Well tonight is the first time I tried to mate them up to the heads and cats. Guess what?
If I were to bolt them up to the heads there is at least a half inch to an inch space between the flange on the converter and the flange on the bottom of the header. From my research there is not supposed to be any donut gasket, and even then I don't see how I can adjust the converter up to the header.
Any thoughts?

disconnect the cats from the cat back. I think you will get everything to made up then.

leave the cats loose and then fit the cat back accordingly.

Thanks Andy,
You know, nothing comes easy. I was under there for a few minutes and was really hoping I wouldn't have to do any loosening of other parts. I'm really sick of disassembly by now. I just want to re-assemble!

Cheers

I answered you over on the brand X forum. It seems you get faster answers over there, just not as good of an answer as here.

Agreed - Over there you get ten answers pulled from the butt, and one or two good ones later.

Here, there may not be as many replies, but they will have substance.

It seems there are short cuts to the FSM, but in most cases, their way is the most complete and usually gets the job done right. One thing, this exhaust is easy to remove compared to many others.

I'm gonna get the exhaust hooked up this weekend and maybe even get the rockers adjusted and intake installed. But that seems a little enthusiastic to me at this point.

I did send payment to Bryan at PCMforLess to tune my PCM, I just got to send it off to him today. I was going to do the mail order tune with him, but decided not to dick with that right now, as I got enough to worry about just putting the car back together.

I'll keep you all posted with the progress.

I wish I would have kept pace with JSUP, I might be closer to being done now.
