I believe you.

I sold my 1998 1200 Custom (Sinister Blue) in 2003 to a guy who was buying it for his wife for Mother's Day.

I had a '77 FXS (First year of production). Had to sell it 13 years ago.
My legs would go numb from the vibration, and I aggravated the sciatic nerve in my back towards the end of owning it.

Ended up with a rigid mount FLSTC. Man, the EVO motor is much smoother, as is the wide front tire. I'm still riding the FLSTC ('94), but ocassionally, my back will bother me, mainly in the spring when I first start riding again. But it's much more comfortable than the old Low Rider was. Haven't had to change a gasket on it yet, and no oil leaks/drips.
The FXS gaskets crapped out at 8 years old, and the chrome peeled off at 9 years old.
Had to redo the whole paint/chrome at 9 years old. (AMF Junk, Low year for production for both Harley and Ford- The '77 F250 I had was a giant piece-o-crapola, try getting parts for 3 different versions of '77 production)
The FLSTC is all original yet.

From around 1990;
