Very Cool! Lots of nice cars there! I like the black Z06 convertible. Did he do it himself or send it out. I have seen a couple of those that were done by specialty shops. Pretty cool. That was why GM decided to come out with a GS vert to fill that void, but they forgot the motor!

Boy, I'll tell ya, since the 3 operations I had on my carodits back in Feb and March, I seem to foget a lot of stuff. It was supposed to help, not hinder (got my brain replumbed)..Anyway, That car just looked odd - in a neat kind of way -, but I couldn't figure out why. I stood and stared at it for about 5 minutes before I took the picture. Never did talk to the owner, so I can't answer your question, but if I see him at another get together ( Joel runs at least 5 a year), I'll be sure to ask where/how he got it done.

I've used that for indoor house stuff. It does seem to bite into the plastic very well. I keep a couple cans in the shop.
Never tried it for outdoor stuff though.

I've used it on the shutters for the kids' playhouse.

The west side (right in the pic) is in the sun constantly.
This is a gloss finish on the shutters, and it's holding up well, going on 5 years.

The can instructions state for indoor/outdoor use, and one advert I saw was specifically for those Little Tykes outdoor play set-ups.

Krylon Fuzion paint for Plastic.

One can, Matte black did the trick.
I removed the carrier, cleaned it, and spray bombed it.

The monitor should have this info in it's instructions (or on the manufacturer's web site).

What would worry me is the moisture condensation/collection on a Humid/rainy/snowy day. Turn the unit on, and possibly cook something.

The only thing close to this happening I've ever witnessed is the receiver I've had in my garage for the past 26 years.
It finally quit working a month ago. Turned it on, it has power, emits static out of the speakers, receives AM/FM stations according to the signal strength meter, but outputs nothing other than static.
Could be just old age (it's a Technics brand by Pasnasonic) too.

I used the Duplicolor kit 5 years ago (brush on)
Still holding up good.

Used the spray cleaner that came in the kit (brake cleaner) and a wire brush. Sprayed again after brushing, then painted them.

Do the rotor hats, and caliper brackets while you're at it.
IT'll look a lot better.

Perhaps I've been fortunate in my career of the past 30+ years. I've only had one jerk for a boss.
Complained to upper management, and was told unless I would do his job, tough it out (they wouldn't have canned him anyway).

So, I quit that job.

Any time someone complains about a job, my response is either take it to a higher level in management, and if they do nothing, find something else or live with it.

Sort of hard to find something else right now, so....

Read in the local paper today, the lady was a Wi. resident, visiting her son's family.

The lady's husband, a retired firefighter, died from cancer in 2008.

Nothing wrong with Mustangs.

If I was younger, I wouldn't mind having one.

My daughter's fiance has a supercharged Cobra, something over 425 RWHP, with minor mods and tuning- engine while it was still under warranty. That car is mean. There's a utube video out there with the car on a dyno. I'll find it and shoot you a link.

Oh, BTW, enjoy it. There's always time for Corvettes when the family thing subsides. (At least that's my excuse, and I'm sticking by it)

Used 4 buckets of water to wash my truck today. I got a long handled brush I use for washing. Water spigot is turned off, plus the hose reel is in the garage, and it's frozen.

It was 27 degrees when I did it.
Bottom of the driveway is now a skating rink.

Temps approaching 35 tomorrow. Going to do the wife's family truckster tomorrow.

All I can is, Matt, get a life.

:thumbleft:

And, just to show that I once did not have a life;

About 40 years ago, a friend of mine thought he was the coolest cat around; wore the latest style in mens clothes and shoes (don't know how he turned out this way - more later).

Anywooo, one day the guy is gonna show us something "Fantastic". He whips out his Bic lighter, lays down on his back, throws his legs over his shoulders, holds the lighter by his butt, forces out a meager fart, and starts his double knit Banlon pants on fire.

Funniest thing I ever saw.
Burnt his ass'HaHaHaHaHa.

Turns out 2 years later, the guy is Ghey.
Says to a room full of friends (including the future Mrs Mike), right after having his hemmeroids surically removed, "I have the prettiest spincter in the World"

Right then my friendship ended. He still sends a Christmas card to my wife. GayBob moved to Atlanta 30 years ago.

Anybody remember the SNL skit with Chris Farley and Adam Sandler? It was a beer commercial spinoff about a bunch of rump rangers at a swimming pool?

Assclown Bob actually showed some pics similar to that to a bunch of us (about 20 years ago during a wedding reception) taken at his backyard pool party. All men (in speedos), not a single female.

I bought a solid cap/cover for the sump well, sealed around it with silicone. drilled a 4" hole for the fan tube, as well as a 1.5" hole for the pump. I put a check-valve on the pump tube so that I wouldn't suck in outside air. The fan sits outside the house, right above the sill plate, and I ran a 4" pipe up 3 feet above the fan with a rain-block cover over it. Building codes say the vent should end 3 ft above the lowest eave, so I'm in violation of that code, but what the heck, it was a DIY for me.

My father hade someone put his in 10 years ago (Identical setup), except on top of the fan, in place of a 4" tube, they used a normal down spout tube from a rain gutter.

Usually, any plumbling supplier will carry this stuff.
I got mine from a local jobber. The fan I bought from a place in Va., Infiltec.com.

I still have the R12 system on my '85, and it needs recharging. It was serviced 7 years ago, and that's the last time I used it.

As I stated above, if you had the installation hose kit, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

No hose kit = another expense I don't need to invest in.

Thanks for the offer, though.
Someone will easily pay double my offer for the cans alone.

If you have the hose kit for it, I'll give you $25.00 for it.

And, I promise not to tell Uncle Sam.

37pc here. Started working on a reduction plan 15 years ago. 13 years ago, I finally conquered it.

I have a basement, with a sump system for around the foundation (underneath the concrete floor).

My first attempt was to seal the floor where it it meets the walls, and seal the sump pump area, using a submersible pump.

This lowered the reading to 27 pico curies.

Next, I installed a fan in a vent tube (4 ") and continuously siphon air from underneath the slab/floor.
This got the reading down to 2.

Our house sits on top of a lannon quarry slab (ex-quarry),
and the gas continuously leaks out of the rock formations.

On a side note, EPA studies indicated a reading of 4.4 is equal to smoking a pack of cigarettes a day.
My nieghbor, who doesn't smoke, has just recently undergone Chemo and radiation for lung cancer. She never smoked in her life (nor her husband), and she's lived in the house for 15 years knowing her count was above 20.
Sad situation.

Uploading a video to utube from last night's State H.S. Marching band competition. Damn, is it slow. (2.5 hours for 10 minutes)

Had a good time, even though it was cold (low 30s).
Ate at a local Mexican joint in the town the competition was in, the Carne Asada was shoe leather quality, but the wife's Chalupas' were good. Our daughter (ex-H.S.Color Guard Captain) and her boyfriend went along.

Getting ready to watch some more football today.

beer is cold and ready.

If I was 20 years younger, I'd do it.

Today, I'd just look for a car with the 6 speed already in it.

Old age is a bitch.
I ache for days after anything strenuous, like CV shaft changes.

Change the oil in the truck this morning. Gonna fire up the '85 today and take it for a short drive, need to get in the garage to change the truck's stuff and grease it up.

Then watch some College football, followed by an evening of
State High School Marching Band Competition up in Whitwater,Wi this evening. Feckin' 12 hours of comp., 4 classes of schools, my son being in the last class(largest sizewise AAAA).

Our youngest son is in the pit, Timpany Drums pounder. He doesn't march (4 large kettle drums), but he's right in front of the grand stands, along with other percussionists.

Hey Matt, Who's the manufacturer for the GM hose?

I go to my local Napa for hoses, they carry Gates.
The store is like 2 blocks from my house, so the $$
difference for gas over AZ or Advanced is used for new shoes.

Very sad, indeed.

Fortunately for me, but unfortunate for somebody else, this is the reason I got my job offer yesterday. The fellow I'll be replacing was involved in an accident, and died.

In the job I quit last night, (casino) people are allowed to smoke inside the building. This was a very disturbing situation for me, from both a moral point (not all, but some people who can't afford it gambling and smoking), and health point. I've had family members die prematurely due to smoking, so I'm for any public banning of it - but I won't get in your face about it.

Every other public building, including bars and restaurants, smoking is not allowed. The Indian Casinos are the only exception.

Bummer.

But I'm physched about the new job opportunity.

Snow in the forecast tomorrow and Sunday,

Got a second job interview this afternoon - with the Company owner. I hope it goes well. This is getting to be a fairly long, drawn out process (started back on the 2nd of Sept).

Stopped driving the Vette for the season, the wife's '79 Honduh will be heading for storage in a week or two.
Time for the Hibernation.

Couldn't have been too powerful anyway.

No helmet on the driver.

I remember back in 1970.
Took the SO,s '65 Chevelle to the drag strip.
Had to wear a helmet because the track official saw I had open headers (he never did look under the hood)

I'll be flipping back and forth between the Vikings and Twins games today. The Twinkies are tying to keep it interesting down to the wire. I thought the White Sox were gonna give us some help last night, but Detroit came back and put the wood to 'em.

Enjoy your Sunday, all!

Speakin' of the twinks, I read there could be a possible collision of MNF and a playoff game for baseball if needed next week.

Who gets the boot from the dome?
I doubt of the Vikes would agree to flipping stadiums with the Pack.

Closed the pool up on Friday.
Summer is done, but 80 degrees here today.

Ever notice how you don't see any stray cats or dogs around those Chinese Food joints?

(Actually, they're not even Chinese. Here, they're Hmongs - not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Had a good time at Octoberfest last night.
Took the In-Laws, had Sparnfeckel (pig roast),Fire pit roasted Chicken, and Bratwurst dinners (shared amongst us), bought 4 Landejager sausages (will let them cure a few days), some struedel, drank copious amounts of Spaten Lager, a bottle of Riesling for the wife and MIL. I missed out on the Rollbraten (pork loin) sandwhiches, only cause I didn't have the room left for it.

My oldest son and Daughter-in-law were there, as well as a bunch of their friends, and parents of their friends, who some of just so happened to attend HS with my wife.

It was a good time to forget about all the pressures life has thrown us this past year.

Today is football day (I'm gonna bust out the handicap helmet if the Pack loses today), then rest up for the start of the workweek starting at 10pm tonight (3rd shift)

May be getting a call about a new job opportunity I interviewed for on the 22nd, more inline with my career than the current job is. HR person e-mailed asking for references Friday, and said she'd contact me early this week.

Friday couldn't come soon enough! Had a rough couple of days with 5 headaches - hopefully whatever weather system is coming will blow through here, as it's driving me nuts.

I hear ya (Well, not really).

Both of my ears are plugged due to the weather.
Feckin' high pressure from Canaduh. (The SOs Canadian, so no grief from the Great White North please)

This weather system is gonna stick around until Monday, so I guess it moves out of Mn Sunday.

Going to cut the grass today (My day off), first time in 4 weeks.
We've had great weather here until Tuesday, first rain in over 3 weeks.

C.

Just the other day, while out to lunch with the wife, I said;
Well, I can't take the money I don't have with me to the grave.

Putting brakes on the daughter's car today.
Spent 6 hours yesterday putzing with the cooling system.
Hope to be done by 11am (Football time)

Kids. Fun when they're little. Not so much when they're adult sized.

Slept like crap.
This 3rd shift stuff sucks - (4) 10 hour days, but 3 day weekends are nice.
(Have an 1st shift job interview on Tuesday next week for a better paying job, hope it goes well - the 62% pay cut I took earlier this year sucks too)

Today is disassemble the daughter's Sunfire cooling system day. Broke the bleeder screw on the heater core tube yesterday. In order to get one at the local salvage yard, I have to buy a complete engine. Looks like I'll slice the broken screw with a Dremel to remove it.

Don't the Vortec engines have a different head bolt pattern?

I may be wrong here (most likely), but isn't the Vortec a 60 degree block, compared to the 45 degree 350 SB?

That would lead me to believe a smaller cross-width head pattern.

Well, today was a fun day for me. On my back for a few hours, dropping the tranny pan on the Blazer. My shoulders hurt from all the rolling around on concrete (my sleeper has bad casters on it, I end up sliding off the freakin thing).

Anyway, to make a short story long, I changed the filter and fluid on the truck Friday. Got in to take it off the ramps, back off OK, put it in drive, and WTF, starting off in 3rd gear. Doesn't shift into 4th or overdrive.
SES light comes on, P0758, shift solenoid electrical.
DAMN.
So, bright and early this AM, I'm out there draining the pan again, drove to a Chevy dealer 20 miles away for the solenoid I busted when I installed the panyesterday, and today I ache all over.

On a good note for today, I visited my parents (also 20 miles away, truck is running good now), then off to our oldest son's house (25 miles from my folks) to see the grandkids.
Everyone's doing fine.

I guess, all-in-all, it was a good day afterall.
